Box Score POCATELLO, Idaho -- Sacramento State received singles wins from
Mark Keki,
Mate Voros,
Adam Chodur and
Rudolfs Aksenoks as the Hornets won at Idaho State, 4-3, on Friday morning at Reed Gym.
The victory improved the Hornets to 11-4 overall and 4-1 in the Big Sky Conference. Sacramento State was playing the second leg of a four-match road trip that began on Wednesday with a 4-3 loss at Weber State.
Sacramento State dropped the doubles point for just the fourth time all season, and the team's run of five straight victorious doubles points came to a close. That allowed Idaho State to take an early 1-0 lead.
The Hornets, however, would rip off four straight singles wins to clinch the victory. In a match that was close in every singles and doubles match, all six singles competitions lasted three sets.
That included Keki at No. 1 (6-4, 2-6, 6-4), Voros at No. 2 (6-0, 3-6, 7-6), Chodur at No. 3 (6-4, 2-6, 6-2) and Aksenoks at No. 6 (6-4, 3-6, 6-2). The Aksenoks win clinched the victory.
The Hornets return to action on Thursday, April 6, when they travel to Flagstaff to take on Northern Arizona at 10 a.m. PT.
