SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento State won its second home match in as many days, defeating UC San Diego, 4-2, on Wednesday afternoon on campus.
The Hornets, who swept UC Riverside yesterday, improved to 9-8 overall and 6-3 at home. Sacramento State is playing three home matches over a five-day stretch, including a Saturday contest vs. Jessup at 3 p.m.
Sacramento State has now won three of its last four at home, and only one non-league match remains until jumping back into Big Sky Conference play next week.

Sacramento State tied things at 1-1 after
Martin Duris won his match at No. 1 by a 6-1, 6-4 score. After the Tritons inched back ahead, 2-1, with a win at No. 5, the Hornets proceeded to win three straight singles contests. That included
Nick Bowles at No. 3 (6-2, 1-6, 6-1),
Freddie Healey at No. 4 (3-6, 6-1, 6-0) and
Sebastian Vlahos at No. 6 (6-3, 7-5).
Bowles has now won three straight singles matches.
