Rudolfs Aksenoks each won their singles matches to lead Sacramento State to a 6-1 victory over Saint Mary's in a non-conference matchup on campus.
The win was the seventh in the last eight matches for the Hornets as they improved to 9-3 this season. The win was also the second of the season over Saint Mary's, coupled with a 4-3 victory on Feb. 4.
Sacramento State began the match by winning its ninth doubles point of the season, as the tandems of Voros/Keki (No. 1) and Silva/
Adam Chodur (No. 2) won in quick fashion.
Voros played at No. 1 in the team's singles lineup for the second time this season and won in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. Keki improved to 7-1 this year with a three-set victory at No. 2. Both Silva (No. 4) and Maior (No. 5) won in straight sets. Silva (6-0) has yet to lose a singles match this season. Aksenoks won in three sets to round out the five Hornets with singles victories.
The Hornets are back in action next Friday when they host Big Sky Conference foe Eastern Washington at 1 p.m. Sacramento State is 2-0 in conference play, and five of the team's final six regular season matches will come against Big Sky competition.
