BERKELEY, Calif. — The Sacramento State gymnastics team ended its regular season by recording its highest road score of the season at a four-team meet hosted by Cal on Sunday afternoon.

The Hornets scored 194.875 topping their previous road score this season of 194.750. Host Cal, which is ranked seventh nationally, set its program record with a total of 198.275. Arizona was 29th at 196.525 while UC Davis took third at 196.425.

Sarah Fitzgerald led the Hornets on vault with a 9.775 to tie her season high. The team also counted four scores of 9.700 or higher to finish with a total of 48.675.

On bars, Sacramento State totaled 48.225. Kara Houghton paced the team with a 9.700.

The team's best event total came on beam where the Hornets finished with a 49.200. Freshman Sarah Lutrel tied for seventh overall with a 9.900. Peyton Gillen added a 9.875 and Amber Koeth finished with a 9.850. That score gave the team an NQS of 48.945 during the season which is the highest in program history.

Emma Morgenthaler and Amber Koeth tied for the team high on floor at 9.825. Those scores as well as a 9.775 from Kara Houghton helped the Hornets finish with a 48.775.

Sacramento State will next compete at the MPSF Championships hosted by Air Force on March 18.
