MEN'S GOLF BACK IN ACTION AT WYOMING DESERT INTERCOLLEGIATE ON WEDNESDAY

Hornets to play single rounds for three days in Palm Desert

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State men's golf team will compete at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif., on Mar. 1-3. The tournament will feature an 18-hole round each day. With wind and rain expected on Wednesday, the tournament has already shifted to a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The Hornets will be paired with UT Arlington, Hawaii and Utah Tech.

NOTES
  • This is the first time Sacramento State has competed at the Wyoming Desert Classic.
  • The tournament will be held at the Classic Club and will be par 72 over 7,305 yards.
  • Following last week's tournament in Hawaii, Riley Bell continues to lead the team with a scoring average of 72.11 while Casey Leebrick is close behind at 72.33.
  • Gabriel Smith will be in the lineup for the first time since representing the team at the Nick Watney Invitational on Sept. 26-27.
  • The Hornets totaled 863 last week at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Hawaii. That score was the second best of the season, trailing only the 846 at the Visit Stockton Invitational.
