Box Score SACRAMENTO -- The Hornets won the doubles point, and receives straight set singles wins from all six players en route to a 7-0 victory over American River College on Saturday morning on campus.
Sacramento State (4-2) won its third straight, and improved to 3-0 on its current five-match homestand. That includes wins earlier this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Hornets play again tomorrow afternoon when they host Pacific.
Sacramento State used all 11 players on the roster in today's match.
The Hornets won the doubles point quickly with 6-0 victories at Nos. 1 (
Mark Keki/
Mate Voros) and 3 (
Ori Maior/
Hayden Rand). The match at No. 2 (
Adam Chodur/
Jiri Novak) was stopped at 4-1 because Sacramento State had already clinched the point.
The Hornets received straight set singles wins from
Jan Silva (No. 1),
Rudolfs Aksenoks (No. 2),
Patrick Wong (No. 3), Rand (No. 4),
Tyler Waddock (No. 5) and
Michael Gravel (No. 6). Rand was the only player to play both singles and doubles.
The Hornets' match vs. Pacific tomorrow will begin at 1 p.m. It will mark Sacramento State's fourth home match in six days.
