Box Score GREELEY, Colo. -- For the second straight night, Northern Colorado dominated from the service line, and swept Sacramento State, 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-18), on Monday evening at Bank of Colorado Arena.
Yesterday afternoon, Northern Colorado posted a three set sweep and had 11 aces to the Hornets' one. Tonight, it was much of the same as the Bears had 10 aces compared to just one for Sacramento State. Even when the Bears weren't compiling aces, Northern Colorado's tough serve was throwing the Hornets out of system.
The win allowed Northern Colorado to improve to 5-1 while Sacramento State dropped to 3-3. The Hornets flew to Greeley having won three straight, but lost on back-to-back days to the defending Big Sky Conference regular season and tournament champions.
Greeley has not been kind to Sacramento State, as the Hornets are 2-11 when playing on Northern Colorado's home floor.
Sacramento State's largest lead of the match was one point at 1-0 in the first set, and 5-4 in the second set. The Bears finished with healthy advantages over the Hornets in kills (35-21), hitting percentage (.247-.024), assists (29-20) and digs (38-32). Both teams had five team blocks.
