2021 Season
Played in all 28 matches and 102 sets…one of two players on the Hornets to appear in all 102 sets…starter in 22 of those matches…one of the team’s primary passers all season…averaged 1.15 kills, 1.82 digs and 1.40 points per set…had season highs in kills (12) and digs (22) in a road win at Portland State…also had a double-double at Idaho State (11 kills, 11 digs)…played her best volleyball the final month of the season…over the team’s last nine matches (Hornets were 7-2 during that span), Hayden averaged 2.37 kills and 2.90 digs per set to go with a .247 hitting percentage at outside hitter…finished career with 618 kills and 797 digs…appeared in 121 matches, including 365 sets played.
2021 Spring Season
Played in 16 of 17 matches, and started on all 16 of those occasions at outside hitter…posted averages of 2.07 kills, 2.72 digs, 0.33 aces and 2.58 points per set…ranked ninth in the Big Sky in aces…had six matches with double figures in kills, and eight matches with double digits in digs…posted six double-doubles…ranked second on the Hornets in digs, and third in kills…had a run of seven straight matches with 10+ digs from Jan. 30-Feb. 27…also had multiple aces in seven matches, including a career-best five vs. Idaho State…had season highs in both kills (14) and digs (18) at Weber State…posted a season-high four blocks on a pair of occasions…registered 10+ kills four straight matches from Feb. 13-27.
2019 Season
One of three Hornets to start all 32 matches…also played in 127 of the team’s 130 sets…finished the season with averages of 2.18 kills, 2.66 digs, 0.36 blocks and 2.52 points per set…the kills and digs were both the third best marks on the team…posted double figures in kills on 11 occasions, and double digits in digs 14 times…seven double-doubles…had 935 swings…had a career-high 17 kills in a road win at Weber State…posted a career-best 24 digs against both Idaho and Idaho State…registered double figures in kills in five straight matches from Sept. 6-14…had a stretch of six straight, and nine of 10 matches with double figures in digs from Sept. 28-Oct. 31.
2018 Season
Played in 25 matches, including six starts at outside hitter…finished with averages of 1.67 kills, 1.73 digs and 1.89 points per set…posted double figures in kills twice, including a season-best 16 kills against Cal State Northridge…also had 14 digs in that match, recording her first double-double…had 12 kills at Weber State…posted double figures in digs on three occasions, including a season-best 17 vs. UC Riverside, and 10 vs. Arizona…had at least eight kills on six occasions.
2017 Season
Played in 20 matches, including 25 sets, as a true freshman outside hitter…posted averages of 0.60 kills, 0.88 digs and 0.68 points per set…had a season-best four kills at Idaho State…posted a season-high six digs against Southern Utah…had at least one kill in 10 matches…finished with season totals of 15 kills, 22 digs and 17.0 points.
High School
A local product, Hayden was a 2017 graduate of Whitney High School in Rocklin, Calif…was the starting outside hitter for the varsity team all four years…a four-time first team all-Capital Valley Conference selection and two-time league MVP…as a senior, she was named first team all-state, league MVP, first team all-league and was selected to compete in the Optimist All-Star game after leading Whitney to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section championship…that team reached the second round of the state tournament and finished the year with a 30-11 overall record and the league title with a 13-1 mark…had 609 kills as a senior, and was one of just six players from the entire state of California to record 600-plus kills…in her four seasons, Hayden racked up 1,682 kills, and had career averages of 4.0 kills and 2.6 digs per set to go along with a .289 hitting percentage…averaged at least 4.0 kills per set each of her final three years, including a career-best total of 4.9 as a senior…also averaged 3.7 digs per set with a .315 hitting percentage as a senior…led the Capital Valley Conference in kills as a senior and as a sophomore…named a Top 20 Player to Watch in NorCal High Schools by Sports Stars Magazine…as a junior, she averaged 4.4 kills and 4.0 digs per set while hitting .312
Personal
Parents are Quentin and Jeanna Hayden…a criminal justice major who is on pace to graduate in the spring of 2022…played six years of club volleyball for the highly competitive Northern California Volleyball Club.
