WOMEN'S HOOPS DROPS OVERTIME BATTLE AT WEBER STATE, 75-69

OGDEN, Utah – Sacramento State let a late lead evaporate Saturday afternoon, ultimately falling to the Weber State Wildcats, 75-69, in overtime.

With the loss, the Hornets are now 2-19 overall, including 2-16 in Big Sky play. Weber State, meanwhile, improves to 2-17 overall and 2-14 in league.

Sacramento State led for most of Saturday's action, on top of Weber State for more than 29 minutes. The Hornets led by as much as eight, their biggest lead of the afternoon, at the end of the third quarter.

A 6-1 Weber State run to start the fourth quarter, however, turned things around for the Wildcats, who outscored Sacramento State, 19-11, in the final period. The Wildcats even led by three with 30 seconds left, but a late Tiana Johnson three-pointer even the scored, 65-65, and forced overtime in Ogden.

The overtime period was not kind to the Hornets as the team went 1-for-7 from the floor in the extra five minutes and was outscored, 10-4 in the period, as the game went final, 75-69.

Johnson's game-tying triple at the end of regulation was her last field goal of the night, though she did make two free throws in overtime to put her at a team-high 16 points in the game. Johnson finished 6-for-11 overall on Saturday, including 2-for-3 from three-point range and 2-for-2 at the stripe.

The junior forward added three rebounds, two assists, and two blocks to her final stat line on Saturday.

Close behind Johnson were two other Hornets in double figures, Jordan Olivares (12 points) and Milee Enger (11). Olivares was just 3-for-12 from the floor but made six of nine free throw attempts and pulled in five rebounds. Enger was 4-for-9, including 2-fot-6 from distance.

Summer Menke finished with a team-high seven rebounds, but was again held mostly in check by the Weber State defense. After scoring just seven points on Thursday, the Hornets' leading scorer had just nine on Saturday.

Overall, Sacramento State shot 31.1% (23-74) and 28.1% (9-32) from three. Weber State shot 45.6% (26-57) and an impressive 56.3% (9-16) from three.

Saturday's contest at Weber State was Sacramento State's final road game of the year. The Hornets close out the regular season at home with a two-game set against Montana State on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Both of those games will stream live online on Pluto.TV.
