SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento State earned a Big Sky Conference-leading eight all-conference honors, second most in program history, the league announced today.
Two Hornets – forward Jasmyne Dunn and defender Aubrey Goodwill – received first team recognitions, while three others – forwards Abigail Lopez and Danna Restom and midfielder Julia Herrera – were named to the conference's second team. Three more – midfielders Samantha Craig and Shay Valenzano and defender Jessica Mann – earned all-league Honorable Mentions.
The eight 2021 all-league selections are the most by any team in the Big Sky Conference this season as the Hornets earned two more than both Northern Colorado and Montana, who were next with six. All 10 teams in the Big Sky had at least one all-conference selection.
In addition, the eight all-conference honors are the second most in Sacramento State history, trailing only the 2007 and 2010 championship squads, both of which had nine all-Big Sky players on their rosters. The 2019 team, which set a program and Big Sky record with a 17-match unbeaten streak, had seven all-league selections.

The women's soccer season continues later this week as the Hornets travel to Greeley, Colorado for the 2021 Big Sky Soccer Championships. The tournament begins Wednesday, Nov. 3 with a rematch between the No. 6 Sacramento State Hornets and No. 3 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. The two teams last faced each other just two weeks ago, a thrilling but ultimately heartbreaking 3-2 Hornets loss in double overtime.
The first match of the tournament, the Hornets and Lumberjacks kick off at 11 a.m. MT/10 a.m. PT. The match will stream live on ESPN+ with live stats available at BigSkyStats.com.

SACRAMENT STATE ALL-CONFERNCE SELECTIONS
Jasmyne Dunn, Forward – Big Sky First Team
Jasmyne Dunn earned her second consecutive all-Big Sky selection and her the first first team honor of her career. Dunn appeared in 14 games for the Hornets this season, starting 13 of them. A talented attacked, Dunn scored just one goal in the regular season, but her constant pressure on opponents' backlines created multiple opportunities for her teammates as she tallied a career-high three assists.
An incredibly accurate shooter, Dunn posted a .600 shot on goal percentage, second on the team among players with at least 10 shots.
The all-conference selection is the second of her career.
Aubrey Goodwill, Defender – Big Sky First Team
A talented defender, Aubrey Goodwill earned her third all-league selection and her first career first team honor. Goodwill was named honorable mention in 2019 before earning a second team selection after the Spring 2021 season. Goodwill appeared in all 17 of Sacramento State's regular season matches, starting 16 of them, and totaled 1,516 minutes, fourth most on the club.
She scored one goal, her fifth career penalty kick, and added two assists, bringing her career total to 13. Her five penalty goals are most all-time in Hornets program history and her 13 career assists are tied for third most.
The all-conference selection is the third of her career.
Abigail Lopez, Forward – Big Sky Second Team
Freshman forward Abigail Lopez made her presence felt in a big way, scoring four goals while playing in all 17 of Sacramento State's matches this year. Her four goals were tied for most on the team and were second most among all freshmen in the Big Sky Conference. Two of her goals were game winners, including a late score in the Hornets' 1-0 win at Idaho State
In addition, Lopez collected two assists in her debut season, giving her a team-leading 10 points. Another incredible accurate shooter, Lopez place 10 of her 16 total shots on goal, good for a .625 shot on goal percentage, best among players with at least 10 shots. Her .250 shot percentage (four goals, 16 shots) was best on the club.

Danna Restom, Forward – Big Sky Second Team
Freshman forward Danna Restom also left an impression around the Big Sky in her debut season, appearing in 15 matches while starting 13 of them. Incredibly fun to watch with the ball, Restom flashed brilliant footwork all season, beating defenders on her way to three goals, tied for second most on the team.
Restom attempted 23 hots in 15 games, second most on the team, while placing 11 of them on goal, tied for the team lead. Restom finished just shy of the 1,000-minute mark, totally 966 in her first year with the Hornets.

Julia Herrera, Midfielder – Big Sky Second Team
A Sacramento State veteran, team captain and senior midfielder Julia Herrera continued to serve as a foundational piece in the Hornets midfield. The all-conference selection is the second of her career, following a second-team selection in 2019.
Herrera was one of three Hornets to start all 17 of Sacramento State's matches in 2021 and finished second on the team with 23 shots. More impressively, she led Sacramento State with a career-high four assists, tied for fourth most in the Big Sky.
Herrera is Sacramento State's all-time games played leader, checking in at 84 career games and passing the previous mark of 80. In addition, her 6111 career minutes played is fifth most in program history.

Samantha Craig, Midfielder – Big Sky Honorable Mention
Another stalwart in the midfield, senior captain Samantha Craig earned her third Big Sky honorable mention selection, further evidence of her consistency and formidable presence in the midfield. Craig finished the 2021 regular season with appearing in all 17 of the team's matches with 15 starts. She eclipsed the 1,000-minute mark, logging 1,104 while scoring a career-high three goals.
Craigs six total points were also a career-high and ranked third on the club this season. She attempted just 14 total shots, but placed half of them on frame. Her .214 shot percentage (three goals, 14 shots) was second best on the team.

Shay Valenzano, Midfielder – Big Sky Honorable Mention
Shay Valenzano earned her second straight Big Sky honorable mention selection this year, capping a career season in which Valenzano, another of Sacramento State's three senior captains, played a team-high and career-high 1,567 minutes. Valenzano was one of three Hornets to start all 17 of the team's matches this year, captaining a veteran midfield that proved to be one of the most recognized groups in the league.
Valenzano, who has split her career as a defender and a midfielder, scored her first career goal, a thrilling game-winner against Idaho. She attempted just nine shots all season but placed four of them on frame. The senior leader also added an assist, just the second of her career, en route to a career-best four points.

Jessica Mann, Defender – Big Sky Honorable Mention
A perennial Big Sky All-Academic, senior defender Jessica Mann earned her first career all-Big Sky selection following her senior campaign. A gritty defender, Mann played in 13 games this season, making six starts. Her six starts came in succession, beginning on Oct. 8 and going through the end of the season.
Her 13 total games were two shy of her career-high, but her six starts and her 713 total minutes were both career bests. In addition, the senior defender collected her first career assist in Sacramento State's exciting 4-2 win at home over Eastern Washington.
