Box Score

MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho made 12 of its first 13 shots of the game and shot 7-of-9 from 3-point range in the first quarter, leading by 25 points just 10 minutes into the game, and went up by as many as 48 points in the second half in a 107-60 win over Sacramento State on Saturday in Moscow.

The 47-point margin of defeat was the largest loss for the Hornets since 2011. Sacramento State (10-15, 7-7 Big Sky) had won three straight games going into the contest and played the Vandals much closer in a 98-88 loss earlier this year in Sacramento.

Idaho (20-7, 12-3 Big Sky) dominated in every aspect of the game on Saturday, shooting 56% overall, 13-of-28 (46%) from 3-point range, and outrebounding the Hornets 60-51. Sacramento State shot 23.7% overall and had its worst 3-point shooting game of the season, going 8-of-54 (14.8%) from beyond the arc.

The Hornets did have 30 offensive rebounds but were still outscored 18-16 in second chance points. Idaho also shot 25 free throws compared to just nine for Sacramento State and had 29 assists while the Hornets were credited with a season-low four assists.

Senior Adella Randle-El was the lone Hornet to score in double figures, finishing with 14 points, six rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Junior Brianna Burgos made a trio of 3-pointers for nine points while Maranne Johnson and Ericka Magaña each scored seven. Junior Kyhonta Doughty had a team-high seven rebounds.

The Hornets scored the first points of the game on a Magaña layup before Idaho went on an 11-0 run. The home team finished the first quarter shooting 15-of-21 overall while committing only two turnovers, building an insurmountable 25-point advantage at 38-13 after just 10 minutes.

The Vandals led 59-29 at halftime, shooting 64% in the first half, and were up 88-46 through three quarters. Idaho led by at least 40 points for the entire fourth quarter.

Idaho had five players score in double figures with Ali Forde leading the way with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Christina Salvatore made five 3-pointers and had 17 points and nine rebounds and Connie Ballestero had a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists.

Sacramento State plays its last two home games of the season next week, hosting Northern Colorado on Thursday and North Dakota for senior day next Saturday.
