2023 Season
A unanimous first team all-Big Sky Conference selection…started all 34 matches, and played in 129 of 130 sets…now a two-time all-conference selection (second team in 2022)…named to the Big Sky Tournament all-tourney team…named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week three times (Oct. 2, Nov. 6, Nov. 20)…only the sixth Hornet middle blocker to be named first team all-Big Sky (Hayes, Haupt, Franz, Wilson, Dwyer)…averaged 1.42 kills and 1.25 blocks per set while hitting .374…the .374 hitting percentage is the second best single-season mark in program history…her 161 total blocks ranked ninth in the nation…tied the Sacramento State single-match record with a 1.000 hitting percentage (7-0-7) at Northern Arizona…hit .833 (10-0-12) in the Hornets’ first round NIVC win over UNLV, the sixth best single-match mark in school history…in conference play, she led the Big Sky with a massive .451 hitting percentage and ranked third in blocks (1.28 bps)…hit at least .400 in 10 of the last 14 matches of the season…her overall blocks per set average of 1.25 ranked first in the Big Sky…finished career with a .281 hitting percentage to go with 521 kills and 440 blocks (1.04 bps)…the 440 blocks are 11th most in Sacramento State history…a Big Sky all-academic selection for the fifth straight year.
2022 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection…played in all 30 matches, including 27 starts…played in 118 of a possible 120 sets…had a breakout season and was named all-league for the first time in her career…in Big Sky play, she averaged 1.52 kills and 1.13 blocks per set while hitting .338…both the blocks and hitting percentage were the fourth best marks in the league…her 139 total blocks ranked 34th in the nation…tallied at least five blocks on 15 occasions…finished the season by hitting better than .300 in six of her final eight matches of the season…that included eight kills and a season-best .727 hitting percentage in a win against Northern Arizona…narrowly missed a double-double with 10 kills and nine blocks in a win against Idaho…in home matches, she hit .343 with 1.30 blocks per set…started all 16 conference matches…named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10…a huge reason the Hornets ranked 15th in the nation in blocks per set…a Big Sky all-academic selection for the fourth straight season.
2021 Season
Appeared in 27 matches, including 12 starts…played in 91 of 102 sets…spent the majority of the season at rightside hitter…began the year at middle blocker…finished the year with averages of 1.26 kills and 0.97 blocks per set…the blocks were the second best average on the team…had a season-high 10 blocks vs. Pacific…also posted seven kills and a .538 hitting percentage in that match…posted at least three blocks in 16 different matches…had six kills, four aces, seven blocks and a .333 hitting percentage in a win over San Francisco…a Big Sky all-academic selection.
2021 Spring Season
Played in 12 matches, including 17 sets at middle blocker…averaged 0.65 kills and 0.53 blocks per set…had a season-best three blocks in a home win over Portland State…had at least two blocks on three occasions…also had at least two kills on three occasions…had two kills, two blocks and an assist in a win over Idaho State…a Big Sky all-academic selection.
2019 Season
Played in 25 matches, including nine starts as a true freshman…also played in 68 sets…averaged 0.99 kills, 0.63 blocks and 1.33 points per set…had a .254 hitting percentage…season highs: eight kills at Portland State, seven blocks vs. Army, and 10 points vs. Idaho…had four kills in four attacks at Weber State…averaged 1.12 kills per set and a .270 hitting percentage in Big Sky play…a Big Sky all-academic selection.
High School
A 2019 graduate of Davis Senior High School in Davis, Calif…played three years of volleyball for the Blue Devils…also competed for two years in track and field as a high jumper…in volleyball, she played on the varsity squad as a junior and senior, and was a first team all-Delta League selection each of those seasons…during her final two years, she combined for 279 kills, 127 blocks, 38 aces and a .353 hitting percentage…as a senior, she averaged 2.3 kills and 1.0 blocks per set while hitting .352…posted 16 kills and 10 blocks against Pleasant Grove HS as a senior…set the Davis HS school record in the high jump, clearing a mark of 5-06…that mark ranked 12th best in the state…placed first in the high jump while matching her PR at the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Master’s meet.
Personal
Daughter of Clarence Griffin and Sandra Kamba…a biology major who will graduate in the spring of 2024…played for Five Starz Volleyball Club and former Sacramento State head coach Debby Colberg…on that team, she played with Hornet teammate Caty Cordano.
