2016 Season
Named Big Sky Conference Libero of the Year and second team all-conference…started all 32 matches at libero and played in 117 of a possible 119 sets…became the first Hornet named Big Sky Libero of the Year since Kristin Lutes earned the honor in 2006…also just the third Hornet to ever receive Big Sky libero/defensive specialist of the year accolades (Lutes did it three times, Olivia Thomas in 2001)…led the Big Sky in digs per set (5.21), and digs per set in conference play (5.82)…Skalbeck’s 5.21 digs per set average was the 15th best mark in the nation, and her overall total of 609 digs were the 19th best mark in the nation…had at least 11 digs in all but two matches, including 14 matches with 20-plus digs and five matches with 30-plus digs…named to the Big Sky all-tournament team after combining for 54 digs over two matches, including a career-high 36 in the semifinals against Northern Arizona…named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions (Aug. 29, Oct. 31)…named all-tournament at the Maverick Classic…named the Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 31…also had 86 assists…committed just 22 reception errors in 504 serves sent her way, good for a .956 service reception rate…her 609 digs rank as the sixth best mark in school history, and the 5.21 per set average is the fourth best mark…was the starting libero each of her final three years and her career total of 1,767 digs are the fourth best mark in school history…raised her digs pet average every year of her career from 1.52 as a freshman, 3.62 as a sophomore, 4.52 as a junior and finally 5.21 as a senior…career average of 3.74 digs per set is the eighth best mark in school history…named Big Sky All-Academic.

2015 Season
Played in all 33 matches, and all 122 sets as the Hornets’ libero…averaged 4.52 digs per set, the third best mark in the Big Sky Conference…tallied double figures in digs in all but five matches, including 31 at North Dakota…had at least 20 digs on 10 occasions…had a .954 reception percentage, accumulating just 18 reception errors in 393 serves sent her way…had just three reception errors during the final 16 matches of the season…had 32 aces compared to just 20 service errors…averaged 0.34 aces per set during conference play, tied for the fourth best mark in the Big Sky…named all-tournament at both the SCU/SJSU Invitational and the Fresno State Tournament…had 102 assists, an average of 0.84 assists per set…had at least one ace in 21 matches, and multiple aces in seven matches.

2014 Season
Played in all 31 matches and all 120 sets…started 25 matches at libero and six matches at defensive specialist…ranked 10th among Big Sky leaders with 3.95 digs per set against conference competition…also ranked 10th in the Big Sky with 3.62 digs per set overall…tallied double figures in digs on 24 occasions, including 31 at Portland State…over the final six matches of the season, Skalbeck averaged 5.38 digs per set, which included 20-plus digs in four of those contests…had 30 digs in the Hornets’ home win over Northern Arizona…career-high tying five aces against Morgan State…had double digits in digs in 11 of the final 12 matches of the season (nine at Montana State)…second on the team with 71 assists.

2013 Season
One of four Hornets to appear in all 31 matches during the season…that included one start at libero, and one start at defensive specialist…averaged 1.52 digs and 0.31 aces per set…had a 35-to-25 service ace-to-error ratio, the best mark on the team…her average of 0.31 aces per set was the fourth best mark in the Big Sky Conference…in her lone start at libero, she tallied a season-high 21 digs in a win over Fairleigh Dickinson…posted five matches with double digits in digs, including 17 in a victory at Montana State…had at least one ace in 19 different matches, including at least one during a stretch of seven consecutive matches…had a season-best five aces against Idaho, the second most by a Hornet during the season.

High School

A 2013 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Portland, Ore…played four years of volleyball for the Rams, including her final three seasons on the varsity squad…during her three varsity seasons, the team combined for a 94-9 overall record, a 43-2 conference record, two state championships (2010, 2011) and three consecutive 6A Mt. Hood Conference titles…was the team captain during her final two seasons (2011, 2012)…was the team’s starting libero as a senior, starting outside hitter as a junior, and played at defensive specialist as a sophomore…a first team all-conference selection as a senior after averaging 4.7 digs per set, and 4.2 aces per match…a second team all-league choice as a starting outside hitter on the 2011 squad that won a state title and finished the season with a 33-0 record…the 2012 team posted a 31-5 record, and the 2010 squad went 30-4.

Personal
Graduated in the spring of 2017 with a child development degree…parents are Denver and Kari…played two years for the Oregon Northwest Juniors Elite team…Skalbeck is one of five players from the 2013 Oregon NW 18 Elite squad that went on to play Div. I volleyball.
