2023 Season
Named first team all-Big Sky Conference for the second straight season…started all 34 matches, and played in all 130 sets…started the final 88 matches of her career…team tri-captain…now a four-time all-conference performer (second team in 2020 and 2021)…first Hornet middle blocker in program history to earn all-conference accolades four times…only the third Hornet middle blocker to earn first team honors on two occasions (Tasman Dwyer, Lindsay Haupt)…finished with a .369 hitting percentage and averages of 2.18 kills and 1.20 blocks per set…her 156 blocks rank 14th in nation…named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week on both Sept. 25 and Oct. 30…hit at least .400 in each of the final nine matches of the season, and 17 times overall…in conference play, Hayes led the Big Sky with 1.48 blocks per set, and ranked fourth with a .395 hitting percentage…named to the Gator Invitational all-tourney team…career totals are 821 kills, 472 blocks, 2.00 kills per set, 1.15 blocks per set, and a .331 hitting percentage…among Sacramento State’s all-time career ranks, she is seventh in hitting percentage, tied for eighth in blocks, and 10th in blocks per set…posted double figures in kills on 29 career occasions, and 5+ blocks on 48 occasions…a Big Sky all-academic selection for the fourth straight year.
2022 Season
Named first team all-Big Sky Conference…earned all-conference accolades for the third straight season after earning second team honors the previous two years…first Hornet middle blocker to earn 1st team accolades since 2007 (Lindsay Haupt)…team tri-captain…one of three Hornets to start all 30 matches…played in all 120 sets…finished with averages of 2.01 kills and 1.17 blocks per set to go with a .338 hitting percentage…ranked second in the Big Sky in blocks, and third in hitting percentage…in Big Sky play, she averaged 2.10 kills and 1.26 blocks to go with a .325 hitting percentage…also ranked second in the league in blocks during conference play…posted eight matches with double figures in kills, including the final three of the season…named Big Sky all-tournament after hitting .409 with 2.59 kills and 1.67 blocks over two matches…had 14 matches with at least five blocks, including each of the final six contests of the season…hit .464 in home contests…hit at least .500 in nine different matches…a huge reason the Hornets finished 15th in the nation in blocks per set…a Big Sky all-academic selection for the third straight year.
2021 Season
Named second team all-Big Sky Conference for the second straight year…appeared in all 28 matches (27 starts), and 100 of a possible 102 sets…began the year at rightside hitter, but played the majority of the season at middle blocker…posted averages of 1.72 kills, 0.96 blocks and 2.28 points per set while hitting .288…bumped those numbers in conference play to 1.85 kills, 1.07 blocks and a .340 hitting percentage…ranked fourth in the Big Sky in hitting percentage and seventh in blocks in league play…hit better than .345 in six of the last eight matches, including better than .500 three times over that span…posted first career double-double in a four-set road win at Portland State with 10 kills and 10 blocks…posted at least four blocks on 14 occasions…season-high 11 kills came in the Big Sky Tournament vs. Portland State…a Big Sky all-academic selection.
2021 Spring Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection as a redshirt freshman…became the first Hornet freshman middle blocker to achieve all-league status since the Hornets joined the Big Sky in 1996…one of two Hornets to start all 17 matches…also played in 61 of 63 sets…averaged 2.03 kills and 1.31 blocks per set while hitting .299…ranked among the Big Sky’s top six players in two categories…finished third in blocks and sixth in hitting percentage…the 1.31 blocks per set also ranked 30th in the nation…posted 10 blocks on two occasions - in four sets vs. Idaho on Feb. 14, in four sets at Montana on March 21…had a double-double in that Montana match with 13 kills, 10 blocks and a .308 hitting percentage…no Hornet had tallied double figures in blocks in a match in over two years prior to Hayes doing it twice…had double figures in kills on four occasions…hit .300 or better in each of the last three, and four of the last five matches of the season…had at least five blocks in nine matches…named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week on March 23…a Big Sky all-academic selection.
2019 Season
Took and a redshirt and did not play a match during the season.
High School
A 2019 graduate of Clackamas High School in Clackamas, Ore…played four years of varsity volleyball and basketball…in volleyball, she was a four-time all-Mt. Hood League selection, including first team during both her junior and senior seasons, and honorable mention as a freshman and sophomore…during her senior season in 2018, she was also named honorable mention all-state…helped the Cavaliers to a combined four-year record of 85-28 overall and 48-12 in league play…that included the 2016 season, when she was named all-tournament at the state championship after helping Clackamas to a state runner-up finish…in the state championship game, Hayes posted 10 kills and five blocks against Central Catholic High School, and received the game MVP honors…in both 2016 and 2018, Hayes was the recipient of Multnomah Athletic Club Scholar Athlete accolades, an honor awarded to a select group of student-athletes based on their academic and athletic achievements…also excelled on the basketball court, where she was a four-time first team all-Mt. Hood League selection, including the conference’s Player of the Year as a junior…in both 2018 and 2019, she was named first team all-state by USA Today.
Personal
Daughter of William and Lehua Hayes…graduated Cum Laude in the spring of 2023 with a communication studies degree…working on a second bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising and management…played club volleyball for the Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy.
