2011 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection, Kirby started all 32 matches and played in 121 of a possible 123 sets…led the Hornets in kills per set (3.08), points per set (3.60), kills per set against conference competition (3.28) and points per set against league opposition (3.81)…ranked fourth in the league in kills, and fifth in points…also averaged 2.76 digs per set, and ranked second in the league with 16 double-doubles…posted double figures in kills in 23 matches, and double-figure digs 17 times…named Big Sky Player of the Week on Nov. 14…received all-tournament honors at the Hilton Garden Inn Classic in Berkeley…matched her career high with 20 kills against Weber State…also posted a career-high 21 digs at Idaho State…led the Hornets in kills in five of the team’s final six matches of the year, and a team-leading 18 times overall…finished her career with 1,132 kills and 882 digs…the kills are the 14th best mark in school history, and her 3,815 attacks are the ninth best mark…started the final 64 matches of her career dating back to last season…named to the Big Sky all-academic team for the fourth straight year.

2010 Season
Started all 32 matches, and appeared in 122 of 127 sets…an honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference selection after averaging 3.18 kills, 2.21 digs, 0.38 blocks and 3.52 points per set…made the switch from rightside hitter a season ago to one of the Hornets’ two primary outside hitters…had nine double-doubles (kills and digs), which were the ninth best mark in the conference…also among league leaders, she ranked seventh in kills and eighth in points…named the Big Sky’s Player of the Week on Nov. 15 after leading the team to a pair of three-set sweeps over Montana and Montana State…posted double figures in kills in 13 of the team’s final 15 matches of the season and 23 times overall…tallied double digits in digs on 10 occasions…had a career-high tying 20 kills against SMU…among team leaders, she was second in kills, attacks and points, and fourth in digs…led the team in kills in six of the final seven matches of the season…named to the Big Sky all-academic team for the third straight year.

2009 Season
Appeared in all but one match, including 10 starts and 96 sets as one of the team’s two primary rightside hitters…finished with averages of 1.44 kills, 0.51 digs and 0.36 blocks per set…the 1.44 kills per set tied for the fourth best mark on the team…tallied double-figure kills on four occasions, including a season-best 15 against Eastern Michigan…in that match, she also hit .423 (15-4-26)…had 11 kills, a season-high .500 hitting percentage (11-1-20), two digs and two blocks against Montana…posted a career-high tying five blocks in road win at Montana State…named to the Big Sky’s all-academic team for the second straight year.
 
2008 Season
One of the team’s two primary outside hitters, Kirby played in 32 matches, including 26 starts…finished with averages of 2.13 kills, 2.12 digs, 0.30 aces and 0.37 blocks per set…among team leaders, those averages ranked her first in aces, third in kills and fourth in digs…the 0.30 aces per set were also the fourth best mark in the Big Sky Conference…accounted for 287.5 points during the year, the fourth best mark on the team…had six double-doubles…against conference competition, she bumped her averages to 2.38 kills and 2.47 digs per set…had 10 matches with double figures in kills, including a season-high 17 against Montana…had eight matches with double figures in digs, including a season-best 20 at Portland State…finished with 12 kills and 14 digs in the Big Sky Tournament quarterfinals against Northern Colorado…one of eight Hornets named to the Big Sky all-academic team.
 
High School
A 2008 graduate of Yuba City High School…was the 2008 class valedictorian with a 4.67 gpa…played four years of varsity volleyball…a three-time first team all-league selection, she led the Honkers to Tri-County Conference championships in 2006 and 2007, and a combined 30-0 league mark over that span…the team went to the playoffs all four years, including a Sac Joaquin Div. I section runner-up finish in 2005…as a senior, she was the conference MVP, all-area and team MVP after averaging a league-best 4.6 kills per set to go along with a .501 hitting percentage…selected for the Optimist Team as well in 2007…also named the league MVP and the Appeal Democrat Player of the Year as a sophomore.

Personal
Parents are Alan and Karen Kirby, and sister is Alyson…a business major who is on pace to graduate in the spring of 2012…spent six years playing for the North Valley Junior Club team.
