Biography

2021 Season
Played in 24 matches, including 20 starts at middle blocker…battled injury the first month of the season…a second team all-Big Sky Conference selection, the second time she has received the honor (2019)…averaged 1.84 kills, 1.10 blocks and 2.47 points per set while hitting .287 overall…raised those numbers in conference play to 2.04 kills and 1.31 blocks per set to go with a .363 hitting percentage…in league play, she led the Big Sky in hitting percentage and ranked second in blocks…named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions (Oct. 25, Nov. 15)…hit better than .300 in 10 different matches vs. Big Sky opposition…had 12 matches with at least four blocks, and five matches with double-figure kills…hit a career-best .818 (10-1-11) in a three-set win vs. Montana, tied for the sixth best mark in Sacramento State’s Div. I era…finished career with 681 kills and 310 blocks.

2021 Spring Season
Missed the majority of the season with injury…played in four of the final five matches of the season at middle blocker…that included a start in the Hornets’ Big Sky Tournament game…in those four matches, she averaged 1.56 kills and 0.89 blocks per set while hitting .296…had season highs in kills (7), blocks (4), hitting percentage (.600) and points (9.5) in the regular season finale win at Montana…had three blocks in the Big Sky Tournament match vs. Northern Arizona.

2019 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection…one of two Hornets to start all 32 matches and play in all 130 sets…averaged 2.28 kills, 0.42 digs, 1.06 blocks and 2.89 points per set to go with a .279 hitting percentage…her total of 423 blocks were the 33rd best mark in the nation…against Big Sky competition, she upped her averages to 2.50 kills and 1.08 blocks per set to go with a .305 hitting percentage…the blocks per set ranked fourth in the Big Sky while the hitting percentage was the seventh best mark…tallied double figures in kills in 12 of the Hornets’ 18 conference matches, and in 14 matches overall…hit better than .330 on nine occasions vs. Big Sky teams, and 15 times overall…posted season single-match highs in kills (21 vs. Northern Arizona), hitting percentage (.600 vs. Eastern Washington), blocks (9 vs. Eastern Washington) and points (25.5 vs. Northern Arizona).

2018 Season
Played in all 32 matches, starting 30 times at rightside hitter…finished the season with averages of 1.76 kills, 0.49 digs, 0.68 blocks and 2.12 points per set…raised her numbers in conference play to 1.90 kills and 0.74 blocks per set to go along with a .252 hitting percentage…named the Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 22 after helping lead the Hornets to home sweeps of Montana and Montana State…posted double figures in kills four times, including a season-best 13 kills to go with a .435 hitting percentage vs. Nevada…had at least seven kills during each of the last seven, and nine of the final 10 matches of the year…during the final seven matches, she averaged 2.19 kills per set and a .319 hitting percentage…posted a season-best six blocks on two occasions.

2017 Season
Played in 23 matches, including 36 sets, at middle blocker as a true freshman…played in two Big Sky Tournament matches and the team’s NIVC postseason match…had a season-high seven kills against Bowling Green…had three kills and a 1.000 hitting percentage in the Big Sky Tournament championship match…season-best three blocks at Southern Utah…finished the year with averages of 0.97 kills and 1.06 points per set.

High School

A 2017 graduate of Paramount High School in Paramount, Calif…played four seasons of varsity volleyball for the Pirates…helped the team to at least 12 wins each of her four seasons, including four consecutive CIF Southern Section Tournament appearances…played at both middle blocker and outside hitter…a two-time first team all-San Gabriel Valley League selection, earning the award during both her junior and senior seasons.

Personal
Daughter of Chelsea Smith…a communication studies major who graduated from Sacramento State in December of 2021…played for the Golden West Volleyball Club of Anaheim where six of her teammates committed to Div. I schools to play volleyball.
