Biography

SENIOR (2020): Big Sky Co-Defensive Player of the Year...Big Sky Second Team...Big Sky All-Academic (3x)...Team MVP...Christina Lazar turned in a career year in her senior campaign, earning the Big Sky's Co-Defensive Player of the Year award, as well as a second team all-conference selection and her third all-acaedmic award...After two years away from the field due to injury, Lazar anchored one of the best defenses in the Big Sky as captain and centerback...Started 10 and appeared in 10 of Sacramento State's 11 matches...Scored her first goal in more than three years in the team's opener, a go-ahead goal against Saint Mary's on Feb. 11...Attempted just three other shots the rest of the season...Was a key part of Sacramento State's defensive, captaining a backline that allowed just under one goal per match (0.980)...Played 90 or more minutes in eight of her 10 matches and never fewer than 62...Played a season-high 110 minutes in three straight matches from Feb. 13 through March 21...Totaled 951 minutes while averaging a career-high 95.1 minutes per match.

 

JUNIOR (2019): Redshirt season.

SOPHOMORE (2018): Big Sky All-Academic (2x)...Played in and started 10 matches for the Hornets in 2018 as she battled injuries throughout the season...Was a regular on the backline for the Hornets when healthy..Played 90 or more minutes in eight of her 10 matches and averaged better than 83 minutes per match...Scored two goals for the Hornets,  including the first of her Sacramento State career against UC Santa Barbara on Aug. 17...Second career goal came at Pacific on Aug. 31...Took six total shots, placing five of them on goal (.833 sog%)...Totaled 833 minutes on the season. 

FRESHMAN (2017): Big Sky All-Academic...Team Defensive Player of the Year...Started all 20 of the team's matches as a true freshman...Helped anchor a backline that posted an 0.99 goals against per game for the entire season...Helped her team in allowing one goal or fewer in 15 of 20 matches, including six shutouts...Did not score a point, but took two shots, though was unable to place either on goal...Played at least 80 minutes in every match, including a season-high 110 minutes four separate times...Played every minute of 17 matches...Totaled 1,843 minutes played, leading the entire team as a true freshman...Was voted the team's co-Defensive Player of the Year.  

HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years for coach Paul Morrison at Rocklin HS...Named MVP of the Sierra Foothill League (SFL) as a junior...Two-time all-SFL first team selection...Was the third leading scorer in the league as a freshman and sophomore...Had nine goals and 19 points in six games as a sophomore, eight goals and 16 points as a junior...Played forward, mid, and center back...Also played club soccer for 13 years with Blues FC...Played with fellow Hornet recruit Shailyn Valenzano.

PERSONAL: Majoring in geology…parents are Nazar and Robyn Lazar.
