FRESHMAN (2018-19): Big Sky All-Academic...Played in 18 games for the Hornets and made three starts before a season-ending injury...Abney averaged 4.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 13.8 minutes per game...Made three starters, including one in conference play against Montana State on Jan. 5...Scored a season-high 10 points in Dec. 1 against Antelope Valley, shooting 2-for-7 from three and going 4-for-6 from the free throw line...Scored scored six or more points in six games...Shot 26.0% overall and 22.2% from three...Led the team with a .778 shooting percentage from the free throw line (14-for-18)...Hit a thrilling buzzer-beating three-pointer against Montana on Jan. 3 to force overtime...Averaged just under a steal a game and, until her injury, led all freshmen in the Big Sky Conference in steals per game...Collected a season-high three steals in three different games...Played double-digit minutes in all but one of her 18 games...Played a season-high 20 minutes in Sacramento State's 109-107 win over Illinois (Nov. 24).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for coach Matt Abney at Las Cruces HS...Has scored 1,484 points in four seasons and is the second-highest scorer in the school's program history...Has 212 career made 3-pointers, also second most in school history...As a senior, averaged 14.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game while leading her team to the New Mexico Final Four...Was also named the 2017-18 Sun-News Female Athlete of the Year and a 2018 USA Today All-USA New MExico first team selection...As a junior, averaged 14.9 points per game and led her team in scoring, rebounding, assists, deflections, steals, and charges taken while also leading her volleyball team to a state runner-up finish...named All-District in 2015, 2016, and 2017...named to the Rio Rancho All-Tournament Team in both 2015 and 2016 as well as the LCPS Holiday Hoopla All-Tournament Team in 2015...was the LCPS Holiday Hoopla Tournament MVP in 2016.
