Sacramento State

Assistant coach Bill Baxter is currently the longest tenured Sacramento State women's basketball coach having spent nine seasons on the Hornets staff through the 2019-20 season.

During his time at Sacramento State, Baxter has coached on both the Offensive and Defensive sides of the ball while also working with both Post and Perimeter players. His other coaching duties consist of recruiting, game strategy, quick hitters, baseline and sideline out of bounds, while specializing in shooting development. 

Baxter is a 1973 UC Davis graduate where he played basketball for Coach Bob Hamilton. He began his teaching/coaching career 48 years ago and during that time has coached 79 total different High School and College teams. 

He began his coaching career as Head Coach for the freshman men's basketball team and as the assistant coach with the Varsity team at UC Davis from 1972-74.
