Biography

CAREER NOTES: Became the fifth Hornet overall and first since 2004 to score a hat trick, scoring three times on Sept. 19 in a 4-2 win over San Francisco...Signed to play professionally with the Reno 1868 FC following his sophomore season.

SOPHOMORE (2019): Big West Second Team (2x)...Played in 17 of Sacramento State's 18 games, making 16 starts...Tied for team lead with four goals scored while ranking third on the team with nine points overall...Three of those goals came in the same game as Kikanovic became the first Hornet in 15 years to score a hat trick on Sept. 19 in a 4-2 win over San Francisco...Scored two of the three goals in back-to-back fashion n the 27th and 31st minutes before completing the hat trick in the 66th...The hat trick was the first by a Hornet since 2004...His other goal was an overtime golden-goal game winner on the road a CSUN on Oct. 16...Attempted a team-leading 38 shots on the season, placing a team-high 14 on frame...Kikanovic played 1,284 total minutes, averaging 75.5 minutes per game...Played a full 90 or more minutes in six matches, including a season-high 110 in a 1-1 draw against Pacific.

FRESHMAN (2018): Big West co-Freshman of the Year...Big West All-Freshman...Big West Second Team...Was the first Hornets freshman to earn Big West Freshman of the Year Award since the program joined the league in 2012...Played in and started all 17 of the team's games...Led the team with 14 total points on the season...Scored five goals, tied for most on the team, and had four assists, most on the squad...Scored his first career goal at CSU Bakersfield on Aug. 31, and added his second later that same game, a game-winner in overtime...Was his first career brace...Each of his other three goals came in three separate matches...All four of his assists came in four separate matches, as well...Had both a goal and an assist in Sacramento State's 3-2 overtime win at San Francisco on Sept. 23...Scored the game-winner, his second overtime game-winner of the season...Played 90 or more minutes in five of his 17 matches, including a season-high 110 in the team's scoreless draw at Pacific on Sept. 11...Averaged 78 minutes per match...Played at least 60 minutes in all but one match, when he left early due to injury (32 minutes, Oct. 27 vs. UC Davis)...Totaled 1,327 minutes played, fourth most on the team. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years at Antelope High School for coach Mario Gomez...primarily played striker but also saw time at midfield...played 48 career games for the Antelope Titans and has scored 42 career goals...24 of those goals have come so far during his senior season in just 11 games...played for Placer United under coach Matt McDougall.
