Brad Miller is currently in his second season with the Hornets on head coach Mike Bibby’s staff as an adviser for the program.

In Miller’s first season with the Hornets, Sacramento State went 10-4 at home and consistently sold out Hornet Pavilion. The 10 home victories were the most for the program since the 2019-20 season, and the average attendance of 2,758 per home game set a school record.

The program finished with 2,408 points, and an average of 77.7 points per contest - both the top marks in the Hornets’ Div. I era (1991-pres.). In addition, the team’s aggressiveness led to 595 made free throws (easily the most in the team’s Div. I era, second in program history), and a school-record 78% shooting from the free throw line. Also, a pair of Hornet teammates - Prophet Johnson (18.2 ppg) and Mikey Williams (17.1 ppg) - averaged better than 17 points in the same season for the first time in 38 years.

Academically, the team thrived as a program-record seven Hornets were named to the Big Sky all-academic team, and 12 of the team’s 15 players had 3.0 or better grade point averages.

A 14-year NBA veteran, Miller played for six teams during his time in the Association. That includes six years with the Sacramento Kings, when he and Bibby were teammates from 2003-07.

A two-time All-Star (2002-03, 2003-04), Miller finished his career with averages of 11.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 48% from the field and 80% from the free throw line.

The 6-foot-11 native of Kendallville, Ind., averaged 14.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists during his first season with Bibby and the Kings in 2003-04. In fact, Miller enjoyed the three best scoring averages of his career when the pair were teammates. That includes 14.1 ppg in 2003-04, 15.6 ppg in 2004-05, and 15.0 ppg in 2005-06.

Signed as an undrafted free agent by Charlotte in 1999, Miller played two seasons for the Hornets, four seasons for Chicago, six years for Sacramento, two for Indiana, and one each for Houston and Minnesota.

Collegiately, he played four seasons for head caoch Gene Keady at Purduie where he became the first player in school history to amass 1,500 points, 800 rebounds and 250 assists. As a senior, he led the Boilermakers to a Sweet 16 appearance after averaging 17.2 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.2 spg and 1.6 bpg.

He also played for the United States National Team at the 1998 FIBA World Championship where he helped the team to a bronze medal under head coach Rudy Tomjanovich.

Miller was also selected to play for the U.S. squad at the 2006 FIBA World Championship where he won a bronze medal with teammates LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard.
