Biography

2020-21 Season
Played in 17 games, including 16 starts at point guard…missed the first three games of the season to injury…averaged 5.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 24.9 minutes per game…finished 10th in the Big Sky in steals…had a 1.5-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (49 assists, 33 turnovers)…shot 38% (14-37) from the 3-point line…led the team in steals on five occasions and had eight games with at least two steals…scored in double figures three times, including a season-best 15 points at Eastern Washington on 4-of-8 shooting from the 3-point line…had 11 points and four assists vs. Montana…posted 10 points in a win at Idaho State…his 16 starts were tied for fourth most on the team…a Big Sky all-academic selection, and NABC Honors Court choice for academic excellence.

2019-20 Season
One of five Hornets to play in all 30 games…starter in 29 games at point guard…one of the team’s best on-ball defenders…averaged 6.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 26.3 minutes per game…only game he did not start was Feb. 6 at Weber State when he was nursing an injury…scored in double figures six times…led the team in assists on 16 occasions, and paced the Hornets in steals 11 times…among Big Sky leaders, he was tied for eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.3), ninth in assists and tied for 12th in steals…scored a season-high 16 points on three occasions…season-high 11 rebounds at Montana…went to the free throw line 63 times, connecting on 71% of those attempts (45-for-63)…finished the season a +61 in plus/minus…an NABC Honors Court selection for academic excellence.

2018-19 Season
Took a redshirt after playing the previous year at UC Santa Barbara.

Prior to Sacramento State

Played his freshman season (2017-18) at UC Santa Barbara of the Big West Conference…played in 28 games for a team that finished the season 23-9 overall and 11-5 in league play…received double figure minutes in seven games, including four points, two rebounds, three assists and no turnovers in 17 minutes in the Gauchos’ Big West Tournament quarterfinal win over Cal Poly…scored a season-high nine points in 29 minutes vs. San Diego Christian…Davis played two minutes in the Gauchos’ 82-72 win over Sacramento State at the Nest.

High School
A 2017 graduate of Bishop Alemany High School in Los Angeles…competed in basketball, football, and track and field…helped the basketball team to a four-year combined record of 92-34 overall and 42-6 in the Mission League…helped the team to three straight Mission League crowns, and three straight appearances in the California State Tournament from 2014-17…as a senior, he was the team captain for a Warriors squad that went 24-6 overall and 12-0 in league…that year, he was named all-area, all-CIF, first team all-league, Mission League Defensive Player of the Year and team MVP…averaged 11.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game during that senior season…was a McDonald’s All-American nominee...competed in the Los Angeles Daily News Senior All-Star Showcase at Los Angeles Valley College and finished with 20 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds...averaged 11.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game as a junior...was a three-time all-Mission League selection and a three-time Mission League Defensive Player of the Year during his prep career…a four-time Mission League all-academic selection.

Personal
A communication studies major…parents are Darryl and Evelyn Davis…is part Puerto Rican and Colombian, and played on the U19 Puerto Rican Team at the FIBA World Cup in July of 2017.
