Marco Candido was named the Director of Sports Performance at Sacramento State in January 2026.
Candido spent eight seasons at Oregon State beginning as the associated head strength and conditioning coach and then serving in the head position. He previously served as an assistant on the strength staff at Illinois (2016-18) and Washington State (2008-16).
A native of Gustine, Calif., Candido also has experience at Drake, UAB, Arizona State, LaVerne, Occidental and with the Birmingham Steeldogs in Arena Football League 2.
He played football at Occidental where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology (2003) and earned a master’s degree from UAB in exercise physiology (2005).
He and his wife, Chelsea, have two sons, Canden (born August 2020) and Milo (born June 2022).
