Brian Berger joined Sacrameto State Athletics in August of 1998 and currently serves as the Associate A.D./Communications. In his position, Berger oversees all external communications for the department, is the primary media contact for football, track and field, men's and women's golf and gymnastics, and is the sports administrator for baseball and men's golf. He also supervises the department's ESPN livestreams.
Berger came to the Hornets as the Assistant Sports Information Director and then was elevated to the Sports Information Director prior to the 2000-01 academic year. He joined the Sacramento State senior leadership team and became Assistant Ahtletics Director in 2014 and was promoted to Associate Athletics Director in 2022.
Berger graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in geography and minor in sports management. While at UCSB he was the sports director of the campus radio station (KSSU) and co-sports editor of the Daily Nexus newspaper. Following graduation, he held an internship with the San Francisco 49ers and worked at UC Davis during 1997-98.
A native of Sacramento, he and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of three childeren: Brandon, Nathan and Katherine.
