Beth Shade was elevate to Associate Director of Sports Performance at Sacramento State in the summer of 2025. Shade, who came to Sacramento State in March of 2024, serves as the lead sports performance coach for the Hornet women's basketball program, overseeing all aspects of strength and conditioning, speed, agility and resistance training. She also assists with the training of the Sacramento State football team.
Shade previously served as a graduate assistant at Northern Arizona from January 2023-March 2024. In that role, she was the lead strength and conditioning coach for the track and field throwers, women's diving and women's golf. She also assisted with football where she designed and implemented the return to play protocol.
Shade began her professional career as a strength and conditioning intern with the Oregon State football program during the 2022 season.In that capacity, she operated Catapult software during practice, and assisted in the delivery of strength and conditioning program, including demos and cues.
Shade graduated from Linfield University in McMinnville, Ore., in May of 2022. She played lacrosse for the Wildcats and was the Northwest Conference Player of the Year as a senior. She also worked as a strength and conditioning intern for the department, assisting with men's basketball, women's volleyball and football.
