Sacramento State

2013 Season: Started the final 11 games of the season (missing the season opener at San Jose State due to injury)…had at least one tackle in every game in which he appeared and had five-plus tackles in six games…was credited with a career high nine tackles against Southern Utah and had seven tackles against Northern Arizona…had 1.5 tackles-for-loss against UC Davis…tallied two quarterback hurries and four pass breakups during the season.

2012 Season: Appeared in all 11 games during his first season with the team...recorded 51 total tackles with 30 solos...all but 10 of his tackles came against Big Sky opponents...had 22 tackles over the last three games of the year, including a season high 13 against Montana State...had five stops and three pass breakups at UC Davis...recorded nine tackles against North Dakota and was credited with seven against Northern Colorado and Southern Utah.

Prior to Sacramento State: Spent three seasons at Nebraska (redshirt in 2009)…tallied five tackles, including four on special teams in 2011…had a season-high two tackles in the opener against Chattanooga, including one while seeing action in the secondary…added stops on coverage teams against Washington, Minnesota and Northwestern…made his collegiate debut in the Cornhuskers’ win at Washington in 2010.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Leuzinger HS in Lawndale, Calif…closed out an impressive career with a strong senior season in which he had about 70 tackles and two interceptions…helped his team to a 6-4 record…was an all-league pick and a third-team CIF all-state selection for his efforts as a senior…as a junior, he caught 15 passes for approximately 300 yards and five scores…on defense he earned first-team all-league honors after tallying 50 tackles, two interceptions and one sack.

Personal: Majoring in ethnic studies…son of Kemba Smith…earned Big 12 all-academic honors in 2010.
