Tyler Markowitz joined the Sacramento State staff in April of 2020 and serves as the team’s Operations and Recruiting Assistant.
Markowitz came to the Hornets from Florida Atlantic where he was a recruiting assistant during the 2019 season and later served as the interim director of player personnel with the Owls. At FAU, he managed the team’s recruiting database which contained over 17,000 prospects and tracked statistical performances. In his role as the director of player personnel he oversaw recruiting operations and a team of student interns. He coordinated all official and unofficial visits for the team and helped sign 14 student-athletes during the early signing period. That class was ranked as the second best in Conference-USA.
Markowitz began his association with collegiate sports at the University of Arizona where was an intern with the creative services department and also worked as a student equipment manager. He filmed numerous live events which ran on the Pac-12 Network and live streams and also created highlight packages for practice reports, games and professional prospects.
After graduating from Arizona with a degree in business management in May 2017, he continued his education at Grand Canyon University where he earned his MBA in April of 2019. During that time, he worked as an equipment manager with the Lopes’ basketball, soccer and volleyball teams where he managed day-to-day operations and was a liaison between the coaching staff and vendors.
