Former Sacramento State cornerback Prince Washington returned to the Hornets prior to the 2024 season and will serve as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Washington played for Sacramento State from 2019-22, winning a Big Sky championship each season. In 2019, he played in 12 games, earning three starts. He finished the season with 18 total tackles, including a season-high five stops against UC Davis. Washington had his 2021 season limited due to an injury but started all four games in which he appeared. He closed his career with eight starts in 2022 and finished the year with 35 total tackles.

Prior to coming to the Hornets, Washington spent three seasons at Wyoming (2016-18). After redshirting in 2016, he went on to appear in two games in 2017 and six in 2018 for the Cowboys.

A native of Fresno, Calif., Washington graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in business.
