Kooper Richardson

Former Hornet offensive lineman Kooper Richardson joined the Sacramento State in the spring of 2023. Richardson will assist with the offensive line.

Richardson completed his collegiate career at Sacramento State during the 2021 season. That year, he was named second team all-Big Sky Conference after starting all 11 games at right tackle. He was part of an offensive line which averaged 4.6 yards per rush attempt and allowed just 18 sacks during the year. The Hornets won the Big Sky title that season, going 8-0 in conference play.

Following the season, Richardson joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He started several games during the 2022 season in the CFL.

Richardson began his college career at UC Davis from 2016-21. He started 30 games for the Aggies and was part of their 2018 Big Sky championship team. Richardson earned the team's Tony Kays Award in 2018 which is presented to the most improved offensive player. He was also selected to the Big Sky Community Service Team and won one of the Aggies' Championship Culture Awards.

Richardson was part of the dynasty at Folsom High School where he was named first team all-NorCal, all-Metro, all-Sac-Joaquin Section and all-Sierra Foothill League. That year, the team went 15-1 and earned a berth in the regional championship.

He graduated from UC Davis in the spring of 2021. His father, Kris, serves as the associated head coach/run game coordinator/offensive line coach at Sacramento State and was previously the head coach at Folsom HS. His brother, Kaden, is currently a member of the Hornet football team.
