CJ Cox joined the Sacramento State coaching staff in the summer of 2017. Cox will serve as the cornerbacks coach for the team during his first season.
A native of Garland, Texas, Cox played collegiately at UNLV. He began his college career as a running back before moving to linebacker in 2011. After his playing career, Cox worked as an undergraduate assistant for the Rebels before becoming a graduate assistant coach for the next three seasons.
In January of 2016, Cox was named the recruiting coordinator and director of player of personnel at UNLV.
Cox earned his bachelor's degree in political science from UNLV in 2013.
