Biography

SENIOR (2013): Made 16 appearance with 10 starts...Third on the team in wins with a 7-2 record...Had a .261 opponent hitting percentage while allowing 29 earned runs, the fewest of any starter on the team and sixth fewest among WAC starters...Totaled 33 strikeouts to 22 walks and pitched in three shutouts...Team went 8-2 in his 10 starts and 12-4 in the 16 games he appeared in...Pitched eight or more innings in three starts and allowed only one run in those starts (over 24.1 innings)...Threw eight shutout innings in wins over Saint Mary's and San Jose State...Had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 14 assists and 10 putouts.

JUNIOR (2012): Made 12 appearances with six starts...went 0-2 with a 5.58 ERA in 30.2 innings...allowed 19 total runs on 40 hits with 18 strikeouts and 11 walks...tossed seven scoreless innings with seven hits allowed, three strikeouts and two walks in  1-0 win over Dartmouth on March 19...threw three scoreless innings of relief against UNLV on May 20.

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2011): Made two relief appearances, allowing no runs on two hits in three total innings...in the season finale against Louisiana Tech on May 22, he surrendered just one hit in two innings with two strikeouts.

SOPHOMORE (2010): Redshirt season.

PRIOR TO SACRAMENTO STATE: Selected in the 35th round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks...Played one season at Shasta College in Redding, Calif. for head coach Brad Rupert...posted a 7-6 record with a 4.26 ERA...made 14 starts and threw six complete games...struck out 89 batters in 107.2 innings pitched...was a unanimous first team all-Golden Valley Conference selection...threw a three-hit shutout over Siskiyous on Mar. 5...struck out 10 batters over nine innings..

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Grants Pass HS in Grants Pass, Ore...four year letterwinner in baseball, basketball and football...earned first team all-Southwest Conference honors as a senior...also was named first team all-state as a utility player...threw an eight inning three-hitter with 11 strikeouts against South Eugene while also going 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and three RBI.

PERSONAL: Parents are Stacy and Betsy Morgan...majoring in communication studies.
