GEORGE WASHINGTON
SENIOR (2025): Finished 2-0 in 15 relief appearances for the Revolutionaries… Struck out 22 hitters in 17 innings of work, walking just 13… Earned his first win of the season with 1.2 scoreless innings against Mount St. Mary’s (3/18), allowing just one hit and striking out two… Picked up his second win of the year at Maryland Eastern Shore (4/22), throwing two scoreless innings and striking out three… Those three strikeouts matched his season high — a mark he reached four times on the year.
JUNIOR (2024): Made 16 appearances and a pair of starts for the Revolutionaries… Pitched in 27.2 innings, striking out 19… Made his Division I debut on the mound at Old Dominion (2/18), giving up no earned runs on three hits in 1.1 innings… Earned his first Division I win at Maryland Eastern Shore (3/5), throwing three scoreless innings while allowing a hit and striking out one… Struck out a season-high four in three innings against Delaware (3/19) and pitched a season-high 3.2 innings against Georgetown (3/12).

SOPHOMORE (2023): Pitched in 41.2 innings, winning four games and posting a save… Struck out 48 hitters in that span, averaging 10.37 strikeotus per nine innings… Appeared in 14 games, making nine starts overall… Struck out a season-high seven hitters in a win over Contra Costa (4/25).
FRESHMAN (2022): Appeared in 12 games, making five starts, for the Miners… Struck out 20 batters over 29.1 innings of work… Earned his first win at Contra Costa College (4/28), allowing just two hits over 3.1 innings and striking out five… Also struck out four over 4.2 innings at Sierra College (2/18)… Had 19 hits, 23 walks, and eight RBI at the plate.
WOODCREEK HS
Played two varsity seasons for the Timberwolves in 2020 and 2021… Opened the year with 10 strikeouts in 6.1 innings as a junior in 2020 before the pandemic cut the year short… Finished 6-0 with a 2.01 ERA as a senior, striking out 34 in 31.1 innings in 2021, earning a spot on the Optimist All-Star Team and helping the Timberwolves to a Capital Valley Conference championship.
PERSONAL
Parents are Robert Blankenship and Janice Synder… Has a sister, CJ… His father pitched at Sacramento State from 1987-89 and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 21st round (No. 547 overall) in 1989… His uncle, Shawn, was an infielder for the Hornets in 1989 and 1991, signing a free agent deal with Milwaukee in 1991… His uncle, Jeff, was a pitcher at USC and was drafted by the Athletics in the eighth round in 1979… His uncle, Kevin, played at Arizona and signed with the Atlanta Braves after college, making his Major League debut in 1988… His grandfather, Bill, was the pitching coach at Fullerton College and at Sacramento State from 1990-92… His sister, CJ, ran track at UC Santa Barbara from 2020-23… Graduated Magna Cum Laude from George Washington and is pursuing his MBA at Sacramento State… Worked as a legislative research intern at EarthDay.org.
