Played four seasons at Lincoln HS in Lincoln, Calif., all on varsity under head coach Mike Ratlift...Was named all-Foothills Valley League as a pitcher both his sophomore and senior years...Was named the team's Pitcher of the Year those same seasons...Was a preseason Perfect Game all-American and played in the Area Code games...Helped lead his team to a Foothill Valley League title his freshman season...As a senior, threw 42.0 innings with 81 strikeouts...Faced 164 batters and allowed just 28 hits...Also played football.
