SACRAMENTO STATE
2024:
The only Hornet to start all 57 games on the year… Hit a team-high .318 with 13 doubles, a triple, four home runs, and 38 RBI… Also scored 37 runs and walked 27 times… Posted a .429 slugging percentage and a .384 on-base percentage… Finished the year leading the team in average, hits (78), stolen bases (nine), plate appearances (280), and at-bats (245)… Ranked No. 5 in the WAC in hits (78), third in plate appearances (280), tied for second in at-bats (245), and sixth in hits per game (1.37)… Led the team with 20 multi-hit games, including a career-best 5-for-5 performance against Stephen F. Austin (5/11) that ranks tied for third on the school’s single-game list, and a pair of four-hit games against Nevada (3/19) and Grand Canyon (3/30)… Ended the year third with nine multi-RBI games… Had an 18-game hitting streak from Feb. 27 to March 26 that ranks tied for seventh on the school’s all-time list… Also added a 10-game hitting streak from May 3-18… Wrapped up the year by reaching base safely in his final 15 games… Went without a hit only eight times in his 57 starts… Was even stronger in WAC play, batting a team-high .354 in 30 games, slugging five doubles, a triple, and three home runs, while scoring 19 runs and driving in 18… Slugged .480 and posted a .420 on-base percentage in conference play… Drove in a career-high four runs against the Wolf Pack (3/19) and matched that output against Nevada (5/7) and Stephen F. Austin (5/12)… Walked a season-high three times at UTRGV (5/16) in the final series of the regular season... Named the WAC Player of the Week on May 13 after hitting .556 (10-for-18) with four runs scored, a double, triple, two home runs, and 10 RBI, in games against Nevada (5/7) and Stephen F. Austin (5/10-12).

2023: Started 27 of his 28 appearances, missing most of the year due to injury… Was one of the Hornets’ hottest hitters to start the season, batting .393 from March 2-April 8 before going out with an injury, hitting as high as .460 at one point in that stretch… Collected hits in each of his first seven games of the season, batting 11-for-19 (.579) with four runs scored and six RBI… Finished with a season-high four hits as part of a 4-for-5 performance at the plate against Central Michigan (3/9)… Collected multiple hits in 10 of the 21 games in which he had a hit on the year… Had another five-game hitting streak from March 11-18, which included three multi-hit games and a pair of three-hit performances, batting .526 (10-for-19) in that stretch… Finished with three straight multi-hit games in the series at Stephen F. Austin, batting .500 (8-for-16) with five runs scored and three RBI in the series… Slugged his first career home run against Central Michigan (3/11) and followed that up with the second of his career at Fresno State (3/15)… Added a third long ball at Stephen F. Austin (4/1) in the first game of a doubleheader… His three stolen bases were tied for the team lead… Drew a pair of walks twice against Louisiana Tech (3/28) and Utah Valley (4/8), while scoring three runs three times at Fresno State (3/15), against Grand Canyon (3/18), and at Stephen F. Austin (4/1).

2022: Appeared in 42 of the team’s 58 contests, making 34 starts… Hit .258 on the season with 14 runs scored, three doubles, and 22 RBI… Walked 14 times en route to a .331 on-base percentage… Finished with eight multi-hit games and drove in multiple runs five times… Had a pair of dramatic finishes for the Hornets as his pinch-hit RBI single in the ninth lifted Sacramento State to a 3-2 win over Grand Canyon in the series opener on March 25, while beating out a potential game-ending double play ball at first, allowing Keith Torres to score the game-winner in a 4-3 victory in 11 innings against San Jose State on May 19… Finished with a season-high three hits twice at Long Beach State (Feb. 26) and against New Mexico State (May 27) — the latter in the WAC Tournament… Drove in a season-high three runs twice at Saint Mary’s (April 26) and at Fresno State (May 10).

WASHINGTON STATE
2021: Appeared in 25 games as a freshman, 13 as a starter... Hit .281 with 16 hits, five RBI and nine runs scored... Recorded four multiple-hit games including one three-hit game... Made collegiate debut with pinch-hit at-bat in game one of doubleheader at UC Davis (2/20)... Started at second base at Dixie State (2/27), recorded first career hit with single through the right side... Came off bench to record two hits, an RBI, and scored twice in win against Seattle U (3/6)... Started at shortstop against Seattle U (3/7), set season-high with three hits and scored a run... Walked three times in win at Portland (3/17)... Started all three games at second base at No. 19 Oregon State, singled and scored (3/21)... Had two hits and an RBI at UNLV (3/24)... Came off bench to single and score against No. 24 Stanford (4/3)... Came off the bench, singled, had an RBI, and scored three times against Seattle U (5/5)... Attended Rio Rancho High School in Albuquerque, N.M. as a freshman and sophomore... As a sophomore, named All-State second-team... Attended Reno High School as a junior and senior... As a junior, named Northern 4A Region Defensive Player of the Year as a shortstop after hitting .395 with eight doubles, five triples, two homers and 30 stolen bases... Selected to play in the Northern 4A All-Star Underclassmen Game... As a senior, season cut short due to COVID-19... Named to Preseason All-America West Region by Perfect Game... Rated the top shortstop in Nevada and No. 93 nationally by Prep Baseball Report.

Grandpa, Steve Lane, played baseball at Nevada... Dad, Buddy, was an assistant coach at Nevada, UNLV and New Mexico, and played collegiately at Cal Poly and Chico State.
