Sacramento State's 2019 season was one for the record books and included a number of individual, program, and conference records.

Record-Breaking Unbeaten Streak

  • Sacramento State put together a record-setting 17 match unbeaten streak over the course of the 2019 season. After falling in the first game of the year, the Hornets did not lose again until the postseason tournament, a stretch of 17 matches and 78 days.
  • During the streak, the Hornets went 11-0-6, including 7-0-2 at home.
  • Sacramento State outscored its opponents 26-9 during the 17 match streak. 
  • The 17-match streak is the longest in both program history and Big Sky Conference history. The Hornets passed their previous record of nine straight unbeaten (2007) and broke the conference record of 16 unbeaten (Portland State, 2013-14).

All-Conference Selections

  • Seven Sacramento State women's soccer players received all-Big Sky Conference recognitions this year, including four first-team selection, tied the second-most in program history (five in 2007).
  • Kylee Kim-Bustillos earned the league's Offensive MVP, Mikayla Reed was selected as co-Defensive MVP, and Aaliyah Fesili was named the Big Sky's Goalkeeper of the Year. All three were named to the league's first team.
  • Ariana Nino was also a Big Sky first team selection.
  • Julia Herrera was named to the second team for the Hornets while both Samantha Craig and Aubrey Goodwill received honorable mention selections.

All-Region Selections

  • Three Sacramento State women's soccer players were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region team: Mikayla Reed and Kylee Kim-Bustillos were both named to the region's second team while Ariana Nino received a third team selection.

Big Sky's Best Defense

  • The 2019 Hornet defense was exceptional, leading the league in multiple categories. Sacramento State was best in the Big Sky in goals allowed (14), goals allowed per game (0.74), and goals against average (0.61). 
  • Sacramento State finished with a Big Sky-leading 10 shutouts. That number is second-most all-time in the Big Sky and tied a single-season Sacramento State record.

Shutout Streak

  • Sacramento State ended the 2019 regular season by posting four straight shutout wins. That is tied for the longest shutout streak in program history.
  • The Hornets' last four-match shutout streak came in the program's inaugural season in 1994.
  • In total, Sacramento State posted 10 shutouts in 2019, tied for the most in a single season (also 2007).
