2012 Season: Played in 10 of the team's 11 games...made a season high five tackles and recovered a fumble in the win over nationally-ranked Cal Poly...had solo tackles at Colorado and at home against Montana State.

2011 Season: Appeared in all 11 games as a linebacker and on special teams…recorded 12 tackles, including six solos…11 of his stops came in the first three games of the year…was credited with a career high five tackles at Oregon State…had three solo stops against the Beavers which also set a career high…matched that total with five tackles at Weber State, including a tackle-for-loss.

2010 Season: Played in the final 10 games of the season, earning a start at linebacker against Montana State…had two solo tackles and four assists…was credited with two stops against Northern Colorado for his season high.

2009 Season: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

High School: A 2009 graduate of Rancho Cotate HS in Rohnert Park, Calif…played quarterback and free safety for the Cougars…was named the North Bay League Defensive Player of the Year as a senior…also earned first team all-NBL honors as a quarterback…team posted a 9-2 overall record in 2008 and advanced to the North Coast Section playoffs…rushed for 818 yards and 11 touchdowns and threw for 682 yards and six touchdowns as a senior quarterback…recorded three 100-yard rushing games in 2008, including a 150-yard, three touchdown effort against Piner HS…defensively, he made 30 tackles, had five interceptions and blocked two kicks…he also averaged 18.9 yards per punt return and 17.5 yards per kickoff return…named first team all-NBL as a quarterback as a junior and was second team on defense…finished his career with 2,790 career yards of total offense and 3,835 career all-purpose yards…was a member of the honor roll each year.

Personal: Majoring in kinesiology and would like to work as a physical therapist…parents are Shawn and Margo Rooney.
