2022 Season
Named second team all-Big Sky Conference for the fifth straight season…was able to obtain a fifth all-league award after earning an extra year of eligibility because of the pandemic season…first player in program history to earn all-league accolades five times…team tri-captain…one of three Hornets to start all 30 matches…also played all 120 sets…was the Hornets’ starting setter five straight seasons…finished with well rounded averages of 0.73 kills, 9.36 assists, 0.28 aces, 2.59 digs and 0.76 blocks per set to go with a .290 hitting percentage…averaged 9.93 assists per set in Big Sky play, the fifth best mark in the league…had 16 double-doubles (assists and digs), and 55 over the course of her career…posted at least 40 assists on 13 occasions during the season…her total of 1,123 assists were the 45th best mark in the nation…played in 130 career matches and 500 sets…finished with totals of 4,335 assists, 261 kills, 1,208 digs, 265 blocks and 146 aces…ranks sixth in program history in assists, and 10th in aces…a Big Sky all-academic selection for the third straight season.
2021 Season
Played in 22 matches, including 17 starts at setter…missed six matches with injury…one of two setters in the Hornets’ 6-2 offense…named second team all-Big Sky for the fourth consecutive season…became the first Hornet to be named all-Big Sky four times since setter Lisa Beauchene accomplished the feat from 2000-03…one of just three Hornets in program history to be named all-Big Sky four times - Maureen Rafferty (1996-99) is the other…started each of the last 13 matches of the year…finished with averages of 5.84 assists, 2.23 digs and 0.25 aces per set…averaged 6.02 assists during conference play, the seventh best mark in the Big Sky…posted 20-plus assists in seven of the final eight matches of the year…had at least 11 assists in every match she appeared, including six double-doubles…five of those double-doubles came during the last 11 contests of the year…had at least one ace in five straight, and eight of the last 10 matches of the year…a Big Sky all-academic selection.
2021 Spring Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection for the third time…has now been named all-league in each of her three active seasons…played in all 17 matches, and each of the team’s 63 sets…that included 14 starts…one of two setters that ran a 6-2 offense the majority of the season…finished with averages of 0.22 kills, 6.52 assists, 0.30 aces, 2.35 digs and 0.21 blocks per set…also had a .306 hitting percentage…ranked ninth in the Big Sky in assists per set…with setter McKenna Smith injured, Olin was a six-rotation setter in both matches at Montana, and had a huge week which led to Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week accolades…during those two wins over the Griz, she averaged 1.25 kills, 11.38 assists, 0.38 aces, 3.25 digs and 1.38 blocks per set…that included going over 40 assists in both matches…had six double-doubles, including four of the last six matches of the season…had at least one ace in all but five matches…double figures in digs on six occasions…a Big Sky all-academic selection.
2019 Season
A second team all-Big Sky Conference selection for the second straight year…played in 32 matches, including 28 starts and 129 sets played…becomes just the third player in program history to be named all-Big Sky during both her freshman and sophomore seasons (joining former setters Lisa Beauchene and Maureen Rafferty)…averaged a well-rounded stat line of 0.49 kills, 9.34 assists, 0.30 aces, 2.57 digs and 0.51 blocks per set to go along with a .249 hitting percentage…posted at least 40 assists in 12 of the Hornets’ 19 matches against a Big Sky opponent…her total of 1,205 assists were the 36th best mark in the country…in conference play, she raised her numbers to 0.51 kills, 10.25 assists, 0.39 aces, 2.70 digs and 0.50 blocks per set while hitting .303…in league play, she ranked fourth in the Big Sky in assists and fifth in aces…had 17 matches with double figures in digs, and led the Hornets with 17 double-doubles…named Big Sky Player of the Week on Oct. 14…her 65 assists in a home win against Northern Arizona were a career high…also had a career-best 19 digs at Montana State…had five aces at Portland State.
2018 Season
Named second team all-Big Sky Conference…became just the third freshman in program history to be named all-Big Sky…coincidentally, it was two other Hornet setters that were also named second team all-Big Sky as freshmen - Lisa Beauchene (2000) and Maureen Rafferty (1996)…both Beauchene and Rafferty are in the Sacramento State Volleyball Hall of Fame…started all 29 matches in which she appeared at setter…played with a knee injury the majority of the season, an injury that kept her out of three matches in mid-September…averaged 0.86 kills, 10.32 assists, 2.21 digs, 0.32 aces and 0.81 blocks per set while hitting .249…ranked fifth in the Big Sky in assists, and 10th in aces…bumped those numbers to 10.92 assists, 2.39 digs and 0.84 blocks per set to go with a .277 hitting percentage in league play…named both the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week and Sacramento State Student-Athlete of the Week on Oct. 1…posted double figures in digs on 10 occasions, and finished with 10 double-doubles…had 19 matches with at least three blocks, and went over 50 assists on 10 occasions…narrowly missed a pair of triple-doubles vs. Arizona (7 kills, 10 digs, 28 assists) and McNeese State (7 kills, 12 digs, 37 assists)…season-high 55 assists came against Seattle and season-best 13 digs vs. Idaho…her total of 1,146 assists ranked as the 70th best mark in the nation.
2017 Season
Took a redshirt and did not play during the season.
High School
A 2017 graduate of Chiawana High School in Pasco, Wash…played four years of varsity volleyball for the Riverhawks…a two-time first team all-4A Mid-Columbia selection, Olin was named the co-league MVP as a senior after leading the Riverhawks to an 8-4 league record and a No. 2 seed at the 4A Regional playoffs…as a junior in 2015, she was a first team all-league selection and helped the team to a 16-6 overall record and a second place finishing 12-2 mark in league…served as the team captain each of her final two seasons…voted the team’s most inspirational player as a junior…a scholar-athlete, Olin had a 3.8 grade point average in high school and ranked among the top 10 percent of her class.
Personal
Parents are Dean and Sandra Olin…graduated in 2021 with a psychology degree, and is currently working on a second degree in child development…played three years of club volleyball for the Columbia Juniors out of Pasco…her mother, Sandra, was a middle blocker at the University of Portland in 1990 and 1991.
