Sacramento State

2021 Season
One of five Hornets to appear in all 28 matches…played in 95 of a possible 102 sets…played at both defensive specialist and libero…started 11 matches at libero…averaged 1.88 digs and 0.43 assists per set…posted double figures in digs in 10 of the 11 matches she started at libero…during that 11-match stretch at libero, she averaged 3.71 digs per set…had more aces (18) than service errors (17)…season-high 20 digs vs. Saint Mary’s…had six assists vs. both UC Davis and San Francisco…had better than 15 digs on five occasions.

2021 Spring Season
Played in 10 matches at defensive specialist, including 22 sets…averaged 0.68 digs and 0.36 aces per set…had eight aces compared to just one error all season…posted two aces on a pair of occasions vs. Portland State, and three at Montana…had one service error in 58 total serves…season high of five digs came at Northern Colorado…a Big Sky all-academic selection.

2019 Season
Played in all 32 matches in her first season with the Hornets, including 128 of a possible 130 sets…played matches at both libero and defensive specialist…played the final 24 matches of the season at libero…led the Hornets with an average of 3.30 digs per set…lifted those numbers to 4.18 digs per set against conference competition…named the Big Sky’s Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23…posted double figures in digs 22 times…had double-figure digs in 18 straight matches, a streak which lasted from Sept. 21 until Nov. 19…a Big Sky all-academic selection.

Prior to Sacramento State
Played two years of indoor volleyball at Seattle of the Western Athletic Conference (2017-18)…during those two seasons, she played in 52 matches and 192 sets, including 16 starts at defensive specialist…averaged 1.72 digs per set…as a sophomore this past fall (2018), she appeared in all 30 matches and played in 111 of a possible 112 sets, averaging 1.86 digs…played in matches against Sacramento State in both 2017 and 2018…finished with eight digs in both of those matches…her two-year totals at Seattle were 331 digs, 46 assists and 35 aces.

High School
A 2017 graduate of Vacaville High School…as a senior, she was named first team all-Monticello Empire League and helped Vacaville HS to a league championship…during her final two seasons with the Bulldogs, she played in 116 sets and had 385 digs, good for an average of 3.32 digs per set.

Personal
A history major who graduated from Sacramento State in December of 2021…in seven combined seasons playing for Five Starz Volleyball Club (six years) and Northern California Volleyball Club (one year), Taynton’s teams qualified five times for the USVA Junior Nationals...squad won Gold at the 2015 USVA Junior Nationals in the 16’s Division and she was selected to the All-Tournament Team that year.
