Sacramento State

2021-22 Season
Played in 27 games, including five starts…was the Hornets’ backup center…finished with averages of 1.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 10.0 minutes per game…shot 57% from the field…averaged just one turnover every 30.0 minutes played…posted season highs in points (8), rebounds (5) and minutes (20) at home vs. Portland State…shot 4-for-4 from the field in that game…had six points against a pair of Pac-12 teams (Utah, Arizona)…also had six points at Montana State…a Big Sky Conference all-academic selection.

Prior to Sacramento State
Played one season (2020-21) at San Jose State, a member of the Mountain West Conference…played in 18 games for the Spartans, starting the first six games of the season as a true freshman…averaged 1.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 11.2 minutes per game…shot 59% (13-22) from the field…also had eight blocked shots, and nine of his 33 rebounds came on the offensive glass…had six points in nine minutes (3-for-5 shooting) vs. Wyoming at the Mountain West Tournament…posted six points, six rebounds and a blocked shot in 24 minutes at Saint Mary’s.

High School
A 2020 graduate of JSerra High School in San Juan Capistrano, Calif…played three years of varsity ball for the Lions…JSerra combined to post a 65-26 overall record during his three-year tenure…was a second team all-Trinity League selection as a senior after shooting 64% from the field.

Parents are Emma and Guy Hopshtein…a business major…moved from England to the United States at the age of 10.
