2019-20 Season
A third team all-Big Sky Conference selection for the second straight season…one of two Hornets to start all 30 games…started 93 consecutive games spanning his final three years, the 21st longest streak in the nation…never missed a game during his career, playing in all 124 games…finished the season by leading the team in scoring (12.8 ppg), rebounding (5.7 rpg), blocked shots (1.9 bpg), offensive rebounds (2.2 rpg) and field goal percentage (.560)…shot 140-for-250 from the field, and 26 of those makes were dunks…drew 17 charges, easily a team high…served as team captain for the second straight season…scored in double figures 23 times during the season, and 63 times during his career…among Big Sky leaders, he was tied for first in field goal percentage, second in blocked shots, sixth in offensive rebounding and 17th in scoring…scored a season-high 25 points (8-10 FG, 9-9 FT) in the Hornets’ win over UC Davis at the Golden 1 Center…finished his career as the program’s all-time leader in blocked shots (199), and scored the most points of any center in school history (1,226)…among Sacramento State’s all-time top 10 players (1948-pres.), he also ranked second in free throws attempted (492) and games played (124), third in starts (93) and free throws made (328), fourth in field goal percentage (.588), fifth in rebounds (590) and ninth in field goals made (449)…the 1,226 points are 11th best in program history, and seventh most in the Div. I era (1991-pres.)…the 492 free throws attempted are tops in the Div. I era…the 199 blocks are the fifth most in Big Sky Conference history.
2018-19 Season
One of two players to start all 31 games…was a third team all-Big Sky Conference selection…was the only center in the league to be named all-conference…served as a team captain…averaged 13.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 0.7 steals, 1.6 blocked shots and 28.9 minutes per game…shot 61% (151-248) from the field and 61% (101-166) from the free throw line…of his 198 total rebounds, 66 came on the offensive glass…shot at least 50 percent from the field in 23 games…scored in double figures 23 times, including a career-high 34 points in a 66-64 road win at Northern Arizona…the 34 points were tied for the fourth most in the team’s Div. I era (1991-pres.), and he hit the game-winning bucket with 0.5 seconds remaining…among Big Sky leaders, Patton ranked second in field goal percentage, third in blocked shots, sixth in offensive rebounds (2.1 per game), ninth in rebounding and 16th in scoring…had five double-doubles, including 10 points and career-best 16 rebounds in a home win over Montana State…the 16 rebounds tied for the fourth best single-game mark in Sacramento State’s Div. I era (1991-pres.)…drew 18 charges, tied for the team lead…led the team with 27 dunks…shot 73% (19-26) from the free throw line during the final five minutes of single digit games…had five games with 20-plus points…led the Hornets in scoring 10 times, and paced the team in rebounding on 13 occasions.
2017-18 Season
One of two players to start all 32 games…was the team’s second leading scorer, and second leading rebounder…was the Big Sky Conference leader in both field goal percentage (.611) and blocked shots (1.8 per game)…finished the season with averages of 10.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game while shooting .611 (124-203) from the field and .704 (100-142) from the free throw line…the .611 field goal percentage is the fourth best single-season mark in school history (1948-pres.), and the blocked shots per game ranks as the sixth best mark in program history…led the team with 20 dunks and 13 drawn charges…scored in double figures 17 times, including 11 of the final 15 games of the season (averaged 12.5 ppg during that 15-game span)…had a season-high 24 points on 9-of-9 shooting from the field at home against North Dakota…in league play, he bumped his numbers to 11.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game…shot a massive .675 (79-117) in conference play, easily the best mark in the Big Sky…of his 164 rebounds during the season, 61 came on the offensive glass…shot at least .500 from the field on 26 occasions, and in each of the last eight games of the year…was 15-for-17 from the field over the last three games…had 20 points (8-of-10 FG) and nine rebounds at home vs. Idaho State…attempted an average of 4.4 free throws per game…averaged 24.5 minutes per game, a number that would have been higher if not for fouling out of 12 games.
2016-17 Season
Played in all 31 games as a redshirt freshman…one of just six Hornets to play in all 31 games…averaged 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.1 blocked shots and 9.5 minutes per game while shooting .548 (34-62) from the field and .611 (22-36) from the free throw line…the 1.1 blocks per game tied for the fourth best mark in the Big Sky Conference…also averaged 1.1 blocks in league play, the fourth best mark in the conference…blocked a pair of shots during the final 1:09 to help the Hornets to an 88-83 road win at Southern Utah…posted at least two blocks in 10 games…had a season-high 10 points in a home win vs. Southern Utah on 4-of-4 shooting and 2-for-2 from the free throw line…had six points, six rebounds and a block in the Hornets’ Big Sky Tournament win over Idaho State.
2015-16 Season

High School
A 2015 graduate of Sierra High School in Manteca, Calif…played four seasons of basketball and ran one year of track & field for the Timberwolves…spent the final three years of basketball with the varsity squad…during his three varsity seasons, Sierra won its first-ever Sac-Joaquin Div. III Section title (2015), three Valley Oak League championships, a 77-16 overall record and 39-3 league mark…as a senior, he was named the Stockton Record Player of the Year, league MVP, second team all-NorCal, first team all-league and team MVP after averaging 15.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 3.3 blocked shots per game while shooting .650 from the field…started every game of the year and his 109 blocks set the new school single-season record…in the section championship game, Patton finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 9 blocked shots in Sierra’s victory over Weston Ranch High School at Sleep Train Arena…Sierra HS then picked up its first-ever state playoff victory after beating Archbishop Riordan HS, 65-57, in the state quarterfinals…in his first full season with the varsity team as a junior, Patton received numerous accolades, including Valley Oak League MVP, All-Area MVP and first team all-VOL defense…finished that season with averages of 11.1 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.8 blocked shots per game while shooting .620 from the field…also recorded the first triple-double in school history when he tallied 18 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots against Weston Ranch High School…as a sophomore in 2012-13, Patton was averaging 15.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 5.0 blocked shots per game for the junior varsity squad before he was moved up to varsity prior to the playoffs…that team lost in the Sac-Joaquin Section championship game to Modesto Christian High School.
Personal
A geography major who will graduate in the spring of 2020…parents are Gary and Elene Patton…played AAU basketball for the Manteca Nuggets…brother, Jerrod, was a forward (2014-15) at Fresno State.
