HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years for head coach Casey Morales at Saint Paul HS in Santa Fe Springs...Named team MVP twice and earned two all-Del Rio League first team selections...Earned Pitcher of the Year and first team all-CIF honors as a junior and was an all-CIF second team selection as a senior...Had a 1.94 ERA with 105 strikeouts while also hitting .320 during his senior season...Went 8-4 with a 1.97 and 81 strikeouts in 78 innings as a junior...Allowed just 2 hits in six innings with 18 strikeouts and went 3-for-3 with 7 RBIs in a game during the 2012 St. Paul Easter Tournament...Also played football for one season...Four-time Gene Zeller Student-Athlete Scholarship Award winner and earned 2010 Scholar-Athlete Award.
