Biography

FRESHMAN (2015): Pitched in two games with one start...Threw 2.1 innings and allowed three runs on five hits...Had three strikeouts and three walks...Started vs. Utah and pitched in relief at North Dakota...Threw 65 pitches.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played four seasons for head coaches Jerry Miller and Tony Smith at Woodland Christian HS...Two-time Central Valley Christian League (CVCL) MVP and a four time All-CVCL selection...Also a three-time All-City selection and made the All-Tournament team at the 2013 NorCal World Series...Went 7-1 with a 0.95 ERA in 59 innings as a junior, totaling 91 strikeouts and just 10 walks...For his high school career went 25-5 with a 1.40 ERA and 323 strikeouts in 204.1 innings pitched...Also played football and basketball and was the 2012 CVCL football offensive player of the year and the 2013 CVCL basketball MVP...Played club baseball for Sacramento Stingers for three years.

PERSONAL: Parents are Jack and Melissa Castaneda...Aspires to become a detective and go higher up in the ranks of the police department...Majoring in criminal justice.
