SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A day after being selected as The Big West Offensive Player of the Week, senior forward Zac Giles took a step into the national spotlight on Tuesday, named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week following his performance against Pacific last week.

Now a two-time player of the week honoree this season in The Big West, Giles earns s spot on the national team of the week from Top Drawer Soccer for the first time in his career and became the first Hornet to do so since Donovan Sessoms was named to the team and Sean Battistessa was an honorable mention choice on Oct. 22, 2024.

The Lincoln, Calif., native finished with five points in the Hornets' 4-2 victory over Pacific on Sept. 17, scoring two goals for his first career brace and adding an assist on the eventual game-winning strike.

Now with three goals and a team-high four assists on the season, Giles enters the week leading The Big West in shots (33), shots on goal (17), and total points (10) while sharing the top spot in assists. He is also tied for fourth in the league in goals scored.

Giles and his teammates close out non-conference play on Wednesday (Sept. 23) at home against UC Riverside — normally a member of The Big West, but is an affiliate member of the Pac-12 for men's soccer. The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kick-off at Hornet Soccer Field.
