Sacramento State now readies itself for its regular season opener next Tuesday (Nov. 3) at 4:30 p.m. PT on the road at UT Arlington.

Picton added nine rebounds and eight assists to her final stat line, finishing the game a plus-34 — tied for the best on the team on the night — in 30 minutes of action.

Newcomer Koko Akridge added 12 points, three rebounds, and nine assists of her own while swiping four steals on the defensive end in 31 minutes, while Jenessa Cotton tossed in 12 points to go with seven rebounds off the bench and Jelena Savic added 10 points and five rebounds.

All told, all 12 Hornets who saw action on the night finished in the scoring column.

Sacramento State never trailed in the contest as a three-pointer by Alexis Hess broke a 4-4 tie with 6:43 remaining in the opening quarter, sending the Hornets on their way. The home team led 22-9 after one, 41-18 at the break and broke the game wide open with a 26-point fourth quarter en route to the win.

The Sacramento State defense limited the Warriors to just 31 percent in the opening quarter and 20 percent in the second, allowing the Hornets to pull away. After being limited to just 39 percent in the first 10 minutes, Sacramento State shot no worse than 42 percent in any single quarter the rest of the way, including an astounding 79 percent (11-for-14) in the final period.

Offensively, the Hornets shared the ball well, collecting 29 assists on 36 makes from the field, while turning Stanislaus State over 20 times at the other end of the floor.
