SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sophomore Lou Baudouin outlasted Idaho's Hanna Koprowska in a third-set tiebreaker and the host Sacramento State women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Vandals on Saturday afternoon at the Sacramento State Tennis Complex.

The Hornets head into next week's Big Sky Conference championships with a 19-3 record and a 7-1 mark in conference play, winning their last four regular season matches. With the win, the defending tournament champions clinched the No. 2 seed and receives a first-round bye.

With the loss, the Vandals fell to 14-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play, making them the No. 3 seed in the tournament.

After losing the doubles point, the Hornets ran out to a 3-1 lead in the match with three-straight victories in singles play. Sophomore Reese Walker was the first off thanks to a, 6-1, 6-3, win over Annabel Davis at the No. 2 spot and sophomore Irene Riva put Sacramento State ahead with a straight-set, 6-2, 6-2, win over Chenyue Xu. 

Pranyte put the Hornets on the brink of victory with her win at No. 4, defeating Valentine Rodas, 6-4, 6-4, but Idaho battled back to tie the match with a three-set win at No. 5 and a come-from-behind three-set victory at No. 1 to make it 3-3.

Baudouin won the first set in her match at No. 3 by a 6-3 score, then dropped a heart-breaking second set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5). That sent the match to the decisive third where both players went back-and-forth before Koprowska grabbed a 6-5 advantage. With her back against the wall, Baudouin rallied to tie it at six and then won the tiebreaker, 7-6 (6), to clinch the match for the Hornets.
