WOMEN’S SOCCER WELCOMES TALENTED QUARTET OF COMMITMENTS

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento State women's soccer team has begun to build its 2026 roster with the the addition of four high school standouts who announced their commitment to continue their academic and athletic careers with the Hornets.

"We are very excited to add these four difference makers to our Hornet soccer family," Head Coach Randy Dedini said. "They are all outstanding people and each brings a unique skill set to our team. We are extremely excited to have them as part of our team as we head into the Big West Conference next year."

Two members of the group are Southern California natives with Huntington Beach's Alicia Katter, a 5-foot-3 forward who prepped at Huntington Beach HS, joining Lake Elsinore's Citlalli Ruiz, a 5-5 midfielder from Temescal Canyon HS, in heading north. Meanwhile, Jaz Chang, a 5-foot-1 forward, continues the Hornets' Hawaiian pipeline from the "Aloha State" after prepping at the Punahou School and forward Raegan Rossi is a local product out of Rio Americano HS.

Brief bios on all three signees, in alphabetical order, are below.

JAZ CHANG
5-1 • Forward

A native of Kailua, Hawai'i, Chang is a four-year letter winner for the Buff and Blue, helping her school to a league title and a Division I state championship as a junior… Finished with four goals and three assists in 11 matches as a junior… She also ran cross country and competed with the track and field team… She played club for Leahi Premier for four years, helping her side to a pair of U19 Miso League Championships.

Head Coach Randy Dedini says:
"Jaz is a feisty midfield/forward player that plays multiple positions at a high level. She will bring versatility to our team and give us positional flexibility. Jaz is an outstanding person who will add to the positive chemistry of our team."

ALICIA KATTER
5-3 • Forward

Huntington Beach, Calif.

Entering her third varsity season with the Oilers, after earning a pair of Offensive Player of the Year awards and collecting All-Sunset League second-team laurels as a junior… Scored three goals in each of her first two prep seasons while finding the back of the net nine times as a junior… Also played two seasons of softball… Has won three Scholar-Athlete Awards and was named to the Sunset League All-Academic Team three times… Played club soccer for the Pateadores ECNL squad since 2020, earning ECNL all-region team in 2022-23 and has twice been selected to the ECNL Regional League Selection Game in 2023-24 and 2024-25.

"Alicia has the ability to score big goals in big games for us. Every time I've watched Alicia in the recruiting process she scored a goal. She's another player who gives us positional flexibility because of her high soccer IQ, skill set and work rate."

Three-year varsity letter winner for the Raiders who is entering her senior season… Two-time All-Capital Valley Conference selection as a sophomore and junior and added team offensive MVP laurels in her freshman and junior seasons… Helped the Raiders to an unbeaten league record (8-0-2) and a CIF section title as a sophomore… Finished with seven goals and four assists as a sophomore in her first season of varsity and added a goal and five assists as a junior… Played club soccer for Davis Legacy ECNL team for the last six seasons… Earned ECNL NorCal all-conference second team honors with her club team in 2023-24 at the U16 level.

Head Coach Randy Dedini says:
"Reagan is an outstanding local player who immediately makes our team better. Reagan is one of the best 1-v-1 attackers we've signed in years. Her ability to beat players on the dribble and break down a back line is amazing and I'm looking forward to continue to develop her game."

CITLALLI RUIZ
5-5 • Midfielder

Lake Elsinore, Calif.

Entering her fourth varsity season with the Titans after helping her school to a pair of Mountain Pass League titles as a sophomore and junior… Earned Team MVP honors as a freshman, then went on to earn back-to-back all-league first team laurels as a sophomore and junior… Two-time Offensive MVP… Also competed with the school's cross country team… Three-year member of the honor roll and an AP Distinguished Scholar award winner… Three-time league all-academic first team award winner… Played club soccer for the Pateadores ECNL for the last three years… Has been a United States youth national team ID center invitee twice… Was also a member of Mexico's U15 national team, earning a bronze medal in 2022, and was called into camp with the Mexican U17 squad… Her cousin, Julio Rubio, played collegiately at Seatlle U and CSUN, then competed for the Ventura County Fusion in USL League 2.

"Citlalli is an exciting player for us because she brings a different dimension to our team. She is a true playmaker who can unlock defenses with a single pass. Her vision, technical skills and ability to play the final pass for goal scoring opportunities is top notch."
