DON'T CALL IT A COMEBACK
• Clutch goals by Eli Reyneveld and Nick Strangio -- the latter in the final four minutes of regulation -- helped bring the Hornets back from down two goals at CSUN last week and forge a 2-2 draw for the team's first point in league play
• The two-goal comeback to earn a result was the program's best since they came back from a 2-0 deficit with goals in the 75th and 88th minutes against UC Irvine at home to earn a draw on Oct. 12, 2019
ACCOUNT OPENED
• Reyneveld's goal in the 66th minute against the Matadors was the first of his Hornet career, making him the eighth different Sacramento State player to find the back of the net this year
• For Hiroshi Yang, who assisted on the score, it was his first career assist to go with a pair of goals, while Angad Singh and Jonathan Dadzie posted their second career helpers on Strangio's game-tying score
IN THE NICK OF TIME
• Strangio's game-tying goal at CSUN made him the first Hornet to score multiple goals this year and the latest goal scored by a Sacramento State in 2025
• In fact, Strangio's score with 3:29 remaining was the latest goal since Cody Sundquist found the back of the net with 1:21 remaining against Saint Mary's on Sept. 14, 2023
PITCHING A SHUTOUT
• Senior goalkeeper Andres Rosales came up huge in the second half against CSUN to help the Hornets to their comeback, finishing with six saves in the final 45 minutes en route to the 2-2 draw on the road
• His six saves came up just one stop shy of his career high of seven set and tied in back-to-back matches against Pacific (Sept. 11) and San Francisco (Sept. 14)
• Coupled with his five saves against UC Riverside, Rosales now has 32 stops against 99 shots faced, leading the team with a .711 save percentage in his six appearances
ON THE SPOT
• With Hiroshi Yang's penalty against Saint Mary's on Sept. 19, the Hornets have now converted their last 13 consecutive tries from the spot dating back to a miss against San Francisco on the road on Sept. 23, 2018
• Prior to that, Sacramento State made eight straight penalties, extending their streak to 21 of its last 22 dating back to 2015
• Sacramento State is 3-for-3 in penalties this season, adding makes against No. 13 Stanford and Pacific, matching its total from last season and posting the most makes from the spot since the Hornets were 4-for-4 in 2012
