SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento State's
Kaitlyn Driessen was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Freshman of the Week, it was announced today. The honor is the first of her career.

Competing in the beam lineup for the first time this season, Driessen finished in sole possession of first place in the event in a four-team meet at San Jose State. The Rancho Mission Viejo, Calif., native scored 9.850 during the first rotation of the meet and saw her score hold as the top mark for the remainder of the competition. Driessen also had a 9.700 on vault in the meet.

Driessen is the third Hornet to earn an MPSF weekly award through the first four meets of the season. She follows
Kara Houghton who was named the MPSF Gymnast of the Week after the season-opener against UC Davis and UW-Oshkosh and
Chloe Cohen who was the MPSF Freshman of the Week after the meet against San Jose State.

Sacramento State will next compete in a three-team meet at Boise State on Friday, Jan. 31, which also includes Utah State.
