BASEBALL’S SERIES AT UC SANTA BARBARA MOVED TO CHUKCHANSI PARK IN FRESNO

SACRAMENTO — With recent rains and weather impacting grass installation and field maintenance at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium, UC Santa Barbara announced Thursday that the series between Sacramento State and the Gauchos will now be played at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, Calif.

The dates and times for the series have not been changed as the two teams will meet on Friday (Feb. 23) at 4:05 p.m., Saturday (Feb. 24) at 3:05 p.m., and Sunday (Feb. 25) at 1:05 p.m.

Single-game tickets will be available for purchase at the Chukchansi Park box office with prices set at $14 for adults and $10 for kids ages 10 and under. Children under three are free.

Opening its doors in 2002, Chukchansi Park is the 10,650-seat home to the Fresno Grizzlies — the Single-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. The field measures 324 feet down the left field line, 385 feet to left centerfield, 400 feet to straight-away centerfield, and 335 feet to the right field foul pole.

The venue adds to the list of professional ballparks that the Hornets have had the opportunity to compete in. Sacramento State has played a number of games locally at the home of the Sacramento River Cats, Sutter Health Park, as well as contests at San Jose State's Excite Park (home of the Single-A San Jose Giants), Nevada's Greater Nevada Field (home of the Triple-A Reno Aces), Utah Valley's UCCU Ballpark (former home of the Orem Owlz), and Utah's Smith's Ballpark (home of the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees) among others.
