MEN'S BASKETBALL BACK ON THE ROAD, WILL PLAY THURSDAY AT NORTHERN COLORADO

GAME PREVIEW

• Coming off a pair of home wins, Sacramento State (6-11, 2-2) will look to keep its momentum this week on the road. The Hornets will play twice, beginning with a Thursday matchup at Northern Colorado (9-7, 2-1). Tip at Bank of Colorado Arena is 5 p.m. PT.
• Sacramento State won a pair of home thrillers last week, posting two-point wins over both Weber State (71-69) and Idaho State (66-64).
• Saturday's win against Idaho State saw guard Zee Hamoda bury a floating 10-footer with 0.2 seconds left to provide the victory. It was Hamoda that also scored four points in the final 17 seconds in Thursday's win over Weber State.
• Three of the last four Hornet games have been decided by three points or less, and Sacramento State won all three of those outcomes. Dating back further, four of the last six games were decided by three points or less. That includes a last-second road loss at Idaho that saw the Vandals' Quinn Denker bank in a 25-foot prayer at the buzzer.
• Of the Hornets' four Big Sky games, three have been decided by three points or fewer.
• The Hornets are 1-7 on the road this season, with the lone win coming at rival UC Davis on Nov. 26 by a 69-63 score.
• Northern Colorado had its five-game winning streak snapped in Saturday's 90-81 loss at Montana State. The Bears won in overtime (98-92) at Montana on Thursday.
• The Bears are 5-1 at home, including four straight wins at Bank of Colorado Arena. The last home loss came to Colorado State on Nov. 14.
• Northern Colorado has played three overtime games this year (2-1 in those outcomes).
• Sacramento State is 9-22 all-time against Northern Colorado, including a 3-12 mark when playing on the Bears' home floor.
• The two teams split a pair of meetings last season with each team winning at home.
• The Hornets won at Northern Colorado (85-71) on Jan. 8, 2022. Prior to that victory, the Hornets had dropped seven straight games in Greeley.
• The Hornets are in the second season of the David Patrick era. Last year's squad finished 14-18 overall and 7-11 in the Big Sky Conference. The 14 wins were the most by a first-year head coach during the Hornets' Div. I era (1991-pres.), and third most in program history.
• Sacramento State is currently wearing black patches on the left shoulder of their home white jerseys in honor of Robert "Money" Martin who passed away in late November. Martin played for the Hornets from 1985-89, and remains the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,774 career points. That includes a program-record 294 made 3-pointers.
